Jeff is part contractor, part artist, who collaborates with his clients to produce things of beauty that are also very sturdy and useful. Form and function as the architects say. This experience reminded me of that movie where Michaelangelo collaborated with the Pope to paint the Cistine Chapel. We will enjoy this outdoor kitchen for years to come.

Hired for an outdoor kitchen. Frame and inserts fit nicely. It ends there. 3 stars for that. Samples were limited to two selections only. Just Two samples of tile and granite. One sample of stone. There were no other options. Jeffs Option for behind the grill back splash was a glass tile that did not match. When we purchased our own tile for behind the grill back splash he griped about the AMT of work it would take to install... He was not planning on any deviations to his selection. We opted to have our own tile guy install after I saw the stone he had put up. It triggered me to think it is not his specialty. Big pieces of stone sticking out and not laying flushed with others. He was supposed to cut them and fit them to size but some are not cut properly... some are crooked. Some stick out an inch from others. The electrical socket that was in the wrong place was not included in the project assessment. He did not assess this till faced with it. Then, passed that cost onto us for moving it. He was supposed to frame out the area for the tile back splash. The pencil trim border had all the cuts in wrong places and one piece of trim did not match the other three. Attention to details is not here. The stone and trim work was poorly done and apparently not his specialty. We opted to leave things be as it was clearly not in his skills. For the amount of money I paid $$$$ the final product is not what you want to see. Unbelievable disappointed with stone installation. The kitchen looks good from a distance... key word is distance... Jeffs pictures are also from a distance. No credit for tile purchased. Up charged for granite and electrical. Small credit for not installing the tile back splash.
Response by Ten 28 Construction Group, Inc.: I pride myself on doing quality work and have 30 years of experience and many completed projects with very happy customers across 3 states, including Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. This was actually one of our smaller projects and should have been easy, but from the very beginning nothing suited or pleased Teri. We brought samples that are popular and used on many outdoor kitchens, but she did not like them. I suggested that they go meet with my granite supplier and pick a granite that they liked and they chose a level 3 granite which was an upgrade since the majority of people, especially the cost-conscious, go with a level 1 since it's going outside. My granite supplier graciously offered them the granite that they picked (level-3) at a reduced cost of a level 2 since they were my customers. In order to fit all components that they wanted in the space, I had to have my electrician move the outlet to a safe area away from the grill. Then when it came time for the backsplash, they did not like the glass tile that is normally used, so they picked a different tile that is diagonal which would require extra cost and labor... When I informed them of this they stated they would use their tile guy,at which time I installed a complimentary (free of charge) border to finish the area after the stonework was completed to make it easier for their tile person. We will customize any project and the customer can pick anything that they wish, but when you upgrade or use a product that costs more then naturally the price changes - that's so on any construction project. They were not charged for tile since they decided after the project was started to purchase their own tile and they were given a discount on the upgraded level 3 granite. Teri even complained that I listened to sports talk radio as I worked in the over 105 degree heat index... If her personal insults were true regarding my skills, I would not be in business as a contractor (GC) specializing in custom stone for 30 years as well as being a Construction/Project Manager on numerous residential and commercial projects.
