Great company, one of the workers was so helpful I was frustrated about the smell coming from basement and Christopher helped explain the entire process to me! Next day the smell was gone! I would definitely recommend them to my neighbors.

Homestar has been a breath of fresh air. My home had water damage in the kitchen downstairs and bathroom. I was DEVASTATED! They are very professional working with my Public Adjuster and I. Mike came to do an estimate/consultation he was very professional and kind. They were upfront with their insurance business license and disclosures. They are working with my PA to provide a detailed scope to my insurance company and completed my estimate within 3 DAYS! Iâ m very satisfied and definitely recommend working with HOMESTAR!

Very professional approach from Brian's estimate to Shaun's Project management and JJ's craftsmanship. Each step was reviewed before the work began and everyone agreed so there were no surprises. They were all a pleasure to work with and we are very happy with our new laundry room!

I would say I had a positive experience with Homestar primarily due to my project manager Shaun Jimenez. Shaun was the consummate professional. He kept promises, met deadlines and truly listened to me as a customer. The end result is a beautiful home that I will enjoy for many years to come.

The people that were sent to help me so that restoration could begin were amazing! I have never seen the speed and the organization that was performed by Melody, Britt, and Nate when they arrived at my house. They were prepared , friendly and began right away and made things move in labeled boxes so fast they seem to disappear. The job I thought would last 5 days was basically done in 1. Thanks for sending me this crew and I would recommend them any time.

Do not use this company. Their prices are outrageous, the work is substandard and communication is horrible. I cannot understand why this company is still in business. A project that they promised would be finished by the end of June was not even close to being complete in October. I have so much documentation about this terrible company but Homestar just lies and tries to put the blame on me. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any company ever. I cannot believe they got any positive reviews. Home Advisor recommended this company so I now know that Home Advisor cannot be trusted. I filed a complaint with BBB, but Homestar just told lies about my project and said they really wanted to finish the work. The work they did (which was very little) was substandard. People that actually saw their work would never ever use them. Homestar could never provide an itemized statement, crew very rarely showed up and when they did, they always had to leave to do other projects. All the many times that the crew never showed up, there was absolutely no communication with anyone from Homestar. They would not answer texts, emails, or phone calls. They lied to BBB saying that they had been trying to call us for 10 days (after we told them we were done dealing with them) to finish work. They had 6 months to finish a project that should have taken 1 - 2 months. It was a terrible experience from beginning to end and I cannot believe they are still in business. I have so much documentation about this company but there would not be enough space to list all the problems. They are dishonest con artists who steal your money and never even fix all the problems.

I am disappointed in understanding what I should have expected to be done. Yes they did remove the mold problem from my home. However I did not appreciate how my room was treated when moving different things around in my bedroom. Previously I had asked whether I needed to remove everything from the room. I was told that the workers would be able to take care of it. I did remove some of my more personal items but left the room as it was. When the job was so called finished, these things which were moved were not replaced but left for me to replace. There were still some personal things which were stacked in a manner for which if I was told should be removed, I would have placed and stored them in a better place. Also I had asked that only some of the carpet be removed due to the mold. Before I was told about the TOTAL removal of the carpet, it was done. The floor was also left with residual padding parts still on the floor. For the final results from the mold removal I didn't realize that I would have to hire someone else to replace the wall and its insulation plus the carpeting/padding.

I hired Homestar Group to handle water damage mitigation and restoration. Itâ s the restoration part of the project that failed terribly. 1. 10/19/2020: Met with Sales Director and Project Manager to go over work to be done. Was told it looked like a 3-to-5-day project. 2. 11/03/2020: Precon meeting set to meet with PM and crew to perform work. They failed to show and did not call or text me to say they would be unable to meet. 3. 11/04/2020: Met with PM and carpenter to go over work again. A plumber was needed to remove the Hot Water Tank. Plumber was a no show. Work was scheduled to begin on 11/09/2020. 4. 11/08/2020: Received an email saying a new person would be used to do the sheetrock repairs. 5. 11/09/2020: Met with PM and new carpenter to go over work again. Work scheduled to begin on 11/11/2020 and plumber would arrive the next day. 6. 11/11/2020: Sheetrock work started. 7. 11/12/2020: Plumber shows up to remove Hot water Tank. He didnâ t know how to drain the tank. Said he would come back the next day with his partner. 8. 11/13/2020: Plumber shows up with his partner. They removed the tank and said they would return later reinstall it. When reinstalling the tank there was a loud spark and I lost all power in my condo. They blew out the circuit breakers for my entire unit. Power was eventually restored and they proceeded to complete the reinstallation. I was told to wait a few hours before I would have hot water. When I still didnâ t have hot water by 7:30 PM I texted the plumber. He texted me back saying he would come back tomorrow at 9:00 AM. 9. 11/14/2020: Plumbers return and removed heating element. Said they would have to pick up replacement and would return later that day. Received email from PM saying the plumbers would not be returning and that I should contact my own plumber to complete the work. I called Donald Tibble, Director of their mitigation division, because I was now three days without hot water and needed help. Don stepped up and said he would get to the bottom of this. A few hours later I received a call from PM saying he arranged to have a new plumber come that afternoon. The new plumber showed up around 4:00 PM. He was carrying a Home Depot bag and had already picked up the two replacement elements. The original plumbers said they checked with Home Depot and Lowes and they did not have the elements in stock. The plumber had to drain the tank again and replace the elements. Took him less than a few hours. He showed me the burnt-out element and said it was caused by the original plumbers turning on the power to the hot water tank before filling it up with water. Basically, he said â Water first then Powerâ . I had hot water again in just a few hours. 10. 11/18/2020: I had my plumber come out to inspect the work and offered PM to meet with us. The PM failed to show up. My plumber confirmed you always have to have water in the tank before turning on the power because the heating element would over heat. This caused my circuit breakers to blow out and fried the heating element. My plumber said the work of the original plumber looked like the work of a handyman and not a professional plumber. He also pointed out that the drip pipe was only half way over the drain and half on the floor. Basically, meaning they did not position the hot water tank correctly. In addition to the missed commitments and shoddy work by unlicensed plumbers, I spotted the carpenter dumping the old hardwood flooring and sheetwork down my condoâ s dumpster chute. Iâ m being charged $174.25 for the removal and hauling away of debris. Iâ m also being charged $622.79 for professional plumbing services. Instead, they used unqualified handymen. I wrote to Homestar on 12/02/2020 and again on 12/09/20 asking them to address the above issues. To this date work has yet to be completed and no response from Homestar.

I had issues at the beginning with the person put in charge of my project. It was extremely frustrating. However, upper management was gracious and diligent in working with me to acknowledge the mistakes and make it right. I appreciated it that greatly. The owner listened to my concerns and offered a solution. You can tell he cares about customer satisfaction.
Response from The Homestar Group
"Angie...I am not sure what has happened but we will look up your work order in the morning and reach out to you tomorrow and do whatever we have to do to make it right A.S.A.P."

Homestar was professional. The only thing that got my attention was out of the crew of 6 people, only 1 wore a mask when he started working on project. None of the others had on a mask. With COVID going around, I was surprised. I did have on my mask!
Response from The Homestar Group
"Charlita, I apologize for the issue with the masks right now with COVID. We ask that our team members wear masks unless they are working in a setting where the work effort outpaces the amount of CO2 that they are releasing into the mask. When this happens the worker is unable to breath and eventually passing out. We should have asked permission. That is on us. We will contact you and see what we can do to make it right."

It was good when I first moved in or so I thought. Still have mold and mildew. They also throw away personal property that they did not ask if they could throw away. I have holes in my house. On July 2, Jeremy@XXXX had to clean my windows and property because they did not clean the mold and mildew off of anything. My experience with them have been a nightmare. Have pictures to show
