The tile flooring is wonderful, the craftsmanship plain to see. I can't praise their skill enough. They went out of their way to accommodate our desire to keep some of the "retro" features of the house, but fell a little short (we now have a powder room vanity with no drawers or handles for the doors). Did their best to clean up a major black mark on the wall, but I'll still need to paint.

Paul Bender is a competent contractor with conscientious, skilled tile installers. His bid came in the middle of the range, but his work is outstanding. Tiling is an art, and Paul's company is aptly named.

We had a shortage of materials caused by our underestimation of requirements. After we tried and failed to find additional materiial (out of productin) the project manager, Paul Bender, worked some magic on his cell and we were back in business in 2 hours. The tiler barely spoke English. He got mastic everywhere, on the door handles, the side of the toilet, there was even tile debris inside the toilet.

"I was not aware of the fact that there was some mess left behind; I would have had it remedied immediately if I knew. I received no notification of this from the customer until now. As a note, the employee who did the project is no longer with the company."

Paul understood what we were looking for and he delivered. No project is ever perfect, to be honest, but the minor things we brought to Paul's attention were quickly corrected to our satisfaction. Particularly impressive is how well our new oak kitchen flooring matches that originally installed in the house in 1982, with a 10 foot section of new and old floor interwoven to be completely seamless. He accommodated our schedule fully. We left on holiday over Christmas and returned on New Year's Day to find Paul waiting for us to do a quick walk through. We didn't expect that from anyone, but he wanted to make sure we were satisfied.

They were reasonably priced, very skilled, phenomenally conscientious- would always call to keep me posted as to the status of things, if they were running late- which was rarely over 20 mins, and what to expect. I would definitely recommend them to anybody with great enthusiasm!

This project was the most professionally orchestrated work I've ever seen. Paul Bender is a mster projust manager and communicator. He kept me informed at all times. I think the thing I appreciated most, however, was the company's committment to finish the job quickly with the least amount of disruption. The crew was here every consecutive day - no delays due to scheduling other work! The Tile Artisan comes with my HIGHEST recommendation.

I hired The Tile Artisan based on reviews I read here and I was not sorry. They installed a new tile floor in my kitchen and did a great job. Paul Bender and his crew are very professional. There was a brief delay in getting the job started, but it was completed timely. They prepped the space in such a way as to try to minimize dust and disruption to other parts of the house and left everything clean and neat. The floor looks great and I would definitely use The Tile Artisan again.

I would highly recommend The Tile Artisan, Inc. Paul Bender was one of the best contractors we have ever worked with. I wanted a certain color grout that I couldl not find. Paul had to order it on line (above and beyond considering there are a number of local stores that sell grout). We will be using him in the future to remodel our guest bathroom.

Overall good results. Somewhat difficult to get the job going and I had to pick up the tiles from the supplier. That said, installation was clean and completed on time.

We hired The Tile Artisan to lay heating mats and ceramic tile in our kitchen. The tile installer did a beautiful job. There was one minor issue which was corrected promptly. The installer showed up everyday; he did call once to let me know that he would be delayed and when to expect him. We would gladly hire The Tile Artisan again to do any future tile projects.

Paul Bender inspected the job and made me comfortable that he understood my specific concerns. His demo crew worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. His tile man was EXCELLENT. He was very meticulous in his cutting and laying of the tile. After the job was done, Paul came to inspect the final result and addressed my one small issue. He has followed up again to make sure that everything was to my satisfaction. I will definitely use him again.

Paul, the owner/ poor manager but a nice guy / sent his "best tiler", Edwin, for my 2 day job to retile my backsplash and finish tile in bathroom from another project; ;.He sent along an assistant for Edwin to do the demolition...the assitant could not speak english and obviously didn't know what he was doing because he took a big chip out of my granite backsplash during demolition....Sloppy work from lack of proper management and training/ left a trail of tile splash outside.....the job turned out beautiful and we were able to hid the chip behind some tile; but would never hire company due to damage from a sloppy demolition/ unacceptable

"The main reason that this review was poor was the chip in the counter backsplash. Other than that the job was "beautiful" as the homeowner states in her review. I professionally believe this chip was there before we started. It was concealed by the previous tile on the backsplash; therefore the homeowner wouldn't have known it was there. My employee used a specific tool and hammer to get the previous tile off. I looked at the chip myself and must say I believe it is impossible that the tools my employee was using could've caused the chip that was there. I accepted the homeowner's opinion and didn't argue."
