I hired Mike McGrew in September of 2023 to do an appraisal for a conversation easement and he wanted payment up front which he got. It?s December of 2025 and still no appraisal and no refund of my money. I had to hire another appraiser in September of this year and he completed it by early December. I would not recommend this appraiser to appraise a dog house. He is very unprofessional in his work. He would not respond to calls or texts from me or the soil and water service. If you need an appraisal please go somewhere else

"This comment is 100% false. I completed the appraisal in a satisfactory time period. Perhaps Ray C. hasn't seen the report because Haywood Soil and Water ordered the report and I have been in constant contact with them. A number of revision requests were made by the state for the first time ever, and I have also been in constant contact with them. The report has been revised and submitted to the proper authorities. This is the first I've heard of him hiring another appraiser. I have responded to every call he made to me. I have not heard from him in over a year. This is bogus."

"Shelly C called me exactly once, and I answered the call and spoke to her. She is mad because she thinks her property is worth more than the appraisal based entirely on a land listing near the subject. I tried to explain to her that the unimproved property had been purchased recently, and then put back on the market for several times more than the purchase price. To state that I didn't follow up or explain, or reply to her questions is absolutely false."

They kept saying they would call me for my appointment but I had to call back to the office 2 times before the appraiser called me. Almost didn't meet my drop dead date.

"There is often a lag time between when a lender orders the appraisal, and the order actually lands on my desk. I try to always make appointments to inspect that work for both the borrower and the appraiser."
