In addition to building a retaining wall, Joe built a small deck off the back of the house. Both projects turned out great. He is reliable, honest, and does quality work. He also made suggestions for alternative solutions to help us save money, which was much appreciated.

We hired Joe to install metal railing on our back porch steps. Joe wants to do the job right the first time and would rather overdesign than underdesign. For instance, the metal rail post he anchored in the concrete stairs overlaid with thin bricks had 4"x4" metal bases and 3/8" anchor bolts 4" long instead of the traditional 3"x3" bases and puny anchors. Joe uses the right tools to do the job. For instance, he hammer-drilled into those stairs without shattering the bricks (much to my surprise as I had also been warned that the 70 yrs old concrete was incredibly hard). Joe pays attention to all details and finishes. Instead of cutting the railing square, Joe matched one end parallel with the wall and the other at 45 degree. With all the angles smoothed it is simple, safe, practical and beautiful.

We had new gates installed and a fence barrier around stairwell. Also had pop-up drains installed and a porch step built. He kept me informed of all work before he started installing. He started the project and was very timely in finishing it. He did quality work and I would use his services again. Very satisfied.

Couldn t be better. Joe did job perfectly and identified several other home issues that needed attention and fixed them too. Trustworthy hard worker, should charge more for his quality work. I will certainly be hiring again for any job.

Excellent work

Joe did a great job cutting down a drawer for my pull-out cabinet. It was tricky work to cut it down without disturbing the hardware, and retaining the dip in the front piece. Joe did a great job. He finished the work on schedule. He read my email specifications carefully, and he contacted me first of any of the other contractors. He always kept his word, was so very courteous, and... what a nice man! I highly recommend Joe :)

Joe did a super job repairing the brick entrance to our home. He was very professional, explained his approach to the repair, arrived on time and made sure I was pleased and satisfied with the job. Joe repaired/replaced an exterior garage door frame for me. He is a 5 star professional across the board and I would highly recommend him for your carpentry framing needs.

Called Joe based on these reviews to frame our windows that previously had old fashioned shutters. It is a modern look and took some ingenuity. Joe asked a lot of good questions in order to be sure the framing was what I envisioned. It was. We love the clean updated look and the cedar was securely installed. We painted ourselves and were very pleased with his work. Would definitely hire him again.

I can't say enough about Joe! What a great guy to work with! He is professional, courteous, quick, and took excellent care of my parents. I hired Joe to design, create and install a wrought iron railing to match the existing railing in my parents house (staircase). He was quick to respond, easy to work with and the quality of work is exceptional. In the beginning, my dad was not really hip on the idea of installing another railing, but Joe talked to him and explained why it would be a good idea and came up with reasons we had not even thought of. Very smart man! Great work ethic! I highly recommend him.

Excellent and meticulous work! Joe made many thoughtful suggestions to my project, always mindful of cost, and I ended up with an beautiful walkway. The project was to repair and extend a brick walkway. The old drainage system also needed to come out and be replaced. Would hire again.

He evaluated the issue (cracked underground drainage pipes from fence installation) and went the extra mile to ensure the proposed repairs would result in effective underground sump pump drainage. Joe and his son do excellent work. Our deck was 20+ years old and had not been well-maintained. Joe ended-up replacing about 1/2 the deck with new decking, rails, and stairs -- removing and replacing wood rot & wear & tear damage. The results look amazing. He took extra care in his replacement efforts to help seal & prevent future exposure damage (that the original builders had not done). Would highly recommend him.

Joe upgraded the integrity of our almost 20 year old deck. He made some much needed structural repairs and then followed through with some less critical fixes. We are very pleased with the outcome. Joe is extremely easy to work with and he is professional, knowledgable in home repair and honest. Joe is really great about managing expectations along the way as the project unfolds. Once you start peeling the onion on a tired deck, you're bound to find problems that can't be seen on the surface. He did an awesome job communicating issues that were uncovered throughout the repairs so we could manage costs and still get to a good finishing place. The quality of work was extremely conscientious and timely. He made both cosmetic and structural fixes to our deck that will hopefully get us another 3-5 years of life out of it.
