Absolute worst experience of my life. Untrustworthy, poor quality, will cost you far more than the contract price. Bew.are, beware, beware!

I've waited a long time to post this review in the hopes that the company would make things right. Even after sending a certified letter requesting the job be corrected and finished, it still hasn't been. We hired The Wright Group in October 2022 to repair water damage to our french doors, drywall, kitchen, and flooring. The subcontractors that "completed" (and I use that term very loosely) the work began work in November 2022. Because we lost an end cabinet due to water damage, TWG replaced our previous end cabinet and ordered a door front. It arrived after several months and did not match the existing fronts. We were told another would be ordered and painted. Here we are in October 2023, 11 months later, still missing the door front and with a cabinet that has already had to be peeled and repainted. All of our other cabinets are also chipping and peeling in numerous spots. It looks absolutely terrible. The subs did not clean or prep the surfaces at all before spraying primer and paint. We specifically asked if we needed to clean the cabinets prior and were told no. Anyone who has done even a light search of how to paint kitchen cabinets would know that the surface needs to be cleaned, prepped, primed, and painted with several coats and sanding in between coats. (Owner told us after they had begun priming and painting that he didn't want to paint the cabinets because of the finish/type of cabinets. Had we been told that from the start, we'd have chosen not to have them painted and wouldn't be in this mess.) Regardless, none of this was done and we are now left with chips and peeling everywhere, as well as a missing cabinet door. In addition, trim that was done around our fireplace completely came off and none of the trim work (including shoe molding) was cleaned up after caulking was done. Owner is terrible at communication and seemingly has forgotten about this job that TWG was hired to complete on numerous occasions. He was not present during the progression of work (aside from maybe two 5-minute drop-ins) and did not check on his subs' workmanship. At this point, we have absolutely no hope that TWG will correct the issues as requested or even complete the job. We are now looking at having to replace all of the cabinets as we are concerned that the poor workmanship will decrease the value of our home, which we take a lot of pride in. To say that we are disappointed is a huge understatement. I do not recommend using TWG for any of your remodeling needs.

In my opinion, The Wright Group put absolutely zero effort or care into building our home. Joe was completely lazy and unreliable. He rarely checked the work of his subs. There were so many things that had to be redone, multiple times, and there are some things that are still not done correctly. Our house has been "complete" for a few months now and I am still scraping paint off windows and cleaning up after him. He only cared if the job was finished, not if it was done correctly. To give a few examples..... Our well ended up directly in front of our house. It was suppose to be on the side of the house, out of sight. But, he didn't bother showing up to meet the well installer when he came to drill for the well and he never called us to check if we would be ok with the placement. He never bothered to clean up all of the drywall dust from when they sanded the drywall. He also left nail, screws and trash under the baseboards and all throughout the house. I realized it was not going to cleaned when they started to install the floors on top of all the mess. I went out and purchased a shop vac and spent over a week cleaning the entire house myself. Not only was the inside a mess, but so was the outside. I understand that it is a construction site and it will be messy, but I had trash and garbage blown all over my property and into my neighbors property. Completely unacceptable! The paint job was HORRIBLE! This was done before I cleaned and vacuumed, so they painted over all the dirt, dust and trash. Some of the paint is peeling off of my walls and exterior columns. I have paint splatter on my floors, light fixtures, and bathtubs. My duct work for my range hood was suppose to go inside the walls, but they forgot to put it in before the drywall went up. We asked him multiple times about it, before they installed the drywall, and he still didn't bother to check. When we told him we wanted it boxed it in, so we didn't have a random pipe hanging in the garage, he made a huge deal about it and tried to charge us for it. He finally agreed to it but said that he would only box it it and not paint it. The back of my house has a walkout basement and a covered deck directly above. In the plans, there are 6 columns on the bottom and 6 deck post on top. When they were building our deck they put 8 deck post, which meant that the post would not line up with the columns directly underneath. I noticed the mistake before they were finished. I called and texted him multiple times to let know and he NEVER responded. When I told him I wanted it redone, he suggested that I take 2 columns from my front porch and put them in the back. And, that he thought I had too many columns in the front anyway and it wouldn't look good. I told him that it would completely change the design of my house and I wanted it fixed to how the plans were drawn. He then tried to make us split the cost to redo it. During construction, we had a huge le
Response from The Wright Group
"We understand your complaints, but many of them are not true. We came back every time we were asked and completed everything on the punch list. We had many clients go see the house during final construction and were extremely impressed by what we did and hired us for their projects. The building inspector made several comments about how well it was built. There were some cosmetic issues with paint, but we made every effort to satisfy them. We are sorry you had a hard time with the process, but we did everything we could to make you happy in the end."

They were great! The project went very well but what impressed me the most was whenever I had any questions or concerns and had to call them. They were always very prompt and responsive to my concerns. We also interviewed 4 other contractors for this and Emily and Joe had the most respect for my time and project. I definitely recommend them.
