Work started July 6, 2022, and finally passed inspection after much ado in late September! This was a new metal garage wiring job. From the non-licensed personnel working alone (discovered after the initial work was done) and not coming prepared for a metal building (specs were sent weeks before the work was to start), to not passing the inspection this whole project was a nightmare. A hole drilled through the freezer was not reported. When the inspection failed I was asked by the owner to sign a letter stating that I was ok with the violative conditions, but I refused. I was then sent a quote for additional charges to fix the violative code conditions. Needless to say, I was not going to sign that but I had to threaten to report their behavior before they came to fix the mess. Even with my friend watching their every move and making them do things differently as they went along the work was just barely good enough to pass the inspection. No scruples, shoddy workmanship, lack of respect for customers, and it was not cheap! Save yourself the grief and avoid them.

We interviewed a number of firsm and thought this was the most solid and knowledgeable. Installation was on time and beautifully done. Service has been excellent and the whole-house generator has been invaluable more times than I can count at this point,. given how often power goes out in our mid-Michigan neighborhood.

We have only good things to say about this company. Dennis came to the house & went over everything with us. He told us what the cost would be, wrote up the proposal & soon after, his crew arrived to do the job. Very polite & efficient workers. Power & gas were only turned off for a short time. Finished the job in a timely manner. We are VERY pleased with this company & would recommend them to anyone having similar work done!

The owner of Thee Electric came to my house promptly and quoted the job. He said they had immediate availability (maybe that should have been a red flag?). He quoted $3,495. The original quote was to run the electrical tubing under the porch, but when I was unable to pull the boards up he said the tubing had to go through the porch, and that it would not be very noticeable. Now there is a giant electrical tube going through my porch, and there is absolutely no reason they could not have gone underneath. In addition, they did not bother to pop out the trim, so it sticks out 1/2 34; further than it needs to and the trim is now forever embedded. The 3 34;+ tube is a trip hazard and awkwardly jogs through the room. It appears that the workers mistook the location of the hole they drilled in my house, which pushes the tube across an entire corner of the porch so the space is unusable and ugly. Some of the workers that showed up (not the guy that quoted) were terribly rude to me and the HVAC guy. At one point, the worker that seemed to be in charge implied that the electric tube was no big deal because my house was not nice. I did not know exactly what this job would entail, and the work was being done in November. I told the owner that I would be home the whole time with my 6 month old daughter and he did not bother to tell me that I would be completely without power for 12 hours straight, and then intermittent interruptions throughout the second day. I had to throw out everything in my refrigerator. Of course I knew there would be power interruptions, but I thought that was the kind of thing a professional would warn people of, especially when there is a daytime high in the 30s and there is a baby in the house. It was so cold by evening, but I could not leave with people I did not know in the house. I bundled the baby up in winter outdoor clothing. This was not emergency work, and I could have easily scheduled it for spring. The job took much longer than the owner anticipated, but there were no surprises or unexpected events. Rather, the work simply took longer than quoted even though some items were not completed that were on the original proposal. The changes from the original proposal were that 1) a plug for a microwave hood was not installed, 2) no new outlets were put in the basement, and 3) the strange giant electric tube went through the porch rather than under it. As a result, my final bill was $4,295 - a full $800 more than the proposal, despite the fact that many services and materials had been removed from the original proposal. At no time was informed that there would be higher charges for any reason. When I called the owner he explained that running the tube through the porch cost more, although he did not tell me when we talked about it, nor did he provide an updated proposal. To add insult to injury, I was charged substantial interest because I took time to analyze the bill and I was told that I was supposed to have paid 1/2 the cost upfront. If money up front were required, why did they start the job? Or if he had just called me up and said they needed money to start I would have brought it to him. Instead I was charged 24% interest on the overdue amount. I was only able to get the bill back to the originally proposed amount by threatening legal action which is something I have never even considered doing even though I have hired countless contractors for many projects on my homes over the years. I regret having work done by this company, and I have a strange ugly tube to trip over and remind me of it on a daily basis.
Response from Thee Electric Company
"I know this customer well and what they shared is only part of what is actually the truth. I have dealt with Thee Electric on numerous occasions and they are truly one of the best electrical contractors in the Lansing area."

Thee Electric Company took my call when the local unionized electrical companies would not. The job was to install a name brand 10 circuit switch box and outdoor receptacle that I had purchased myself, and they also provided me with an appropriately rated 150' extension cord to run from my generator to my home. This allows me to run the generator a safe and quiet distance away from our home. They completed the installation in under 4 hours including clean-up and testing. The crew members that completed the job were professional, courteous and friendly. I will give them the first shot at all future work for which I decide to hire an electrician.

Installed a 100 Amp transfer switch and 50 Amp plug box, built a 35" connecting cable, tested with the generator and completed in 4 hours. Focused and very polite workers. Highly recommended.
