Write a ReviewOur project manager Michael Tuck was super knowledgeable and thorough in explaining all the ins and outs of our HVAC installation. The job was completed exactly as described.
From beginning to end of this process, Thermo Direct was outstanding! I had 2 other estimates done. My first choice, based on Nextdoor reviews, Arctic Air showed up smoking a cigarette. Continued to smoke while looking at my HVAC. Very unprofessional. Never received my estimate. Said their email was having issues at the time. It's been a month now and I've never heard back. 2nd company had a great salesman and prices but, they were referred to me from Angi's list and when I checked their reviews, they were terrrible. So, I called Thermo Direct. Eddie Blanchard was very informative and thorough. He made sure to follow up via calls and texts and was always available if I had any questions. In fact, I almost didn't use Thermo Direct as I'd found reviews for ThermoAC and they were awful reviews. When I told Eddie this, he pointed out their 4.7 star rating. I soon realized that I had clicked on the wrong name. But, I still didn't have 3 comparison quotes. Roto Rooter cancelled the first ap
Their salesman was extremely knowledgeable and professional, their install team was efficient and timely, and their follow-up confirming everything is to my satisfaction has been great. I couldn't be happier!
great team.
We were very pleased with company. In particular, their communication is ongoing and timely. The services included removal and disposal of old outdoor A/C equipment, the removal of two furnaces, one in the crawl space and one in the attic with limited access, and an electrical upgrade. The new system also had to go into the attic through a limited access area with a second in the crawl space. The county inspector was impressed with the installation of the new system in the attic.
Single women beware! Run as fast as you can AWAY from THERMO DIRECT. They lack honesty, professionalism, and overall knowledge about the HVAC system and the inspection process. As a single woman, I was looking for a knowledgeable company that would make my HVAC purchase smooth, providing me with peace of mind that the job was being done right. I received a referral for Thermo Direct from Duke Energy, so I assume ok they have to a reputable company, right!? Wrong! Eddie B. came out to my home andproceededd to sale me on a Bryant system thatwasn'tt too pricey. However, when he wrote the actual quote, he wrote for a Bryant/ Payne system split which is NOT what I wanted. The Payne is made by Carrier ( same as the Bryant), but it is a lower end product that is made I believe in Mexico and does not go through as many quality control inspections when being made in the plant. FIRST red flag, I should have gone with my first mind and asked the technicians to leave my home then. Nope, not me, Thermo direct proceeds to complete the job. The next day or two, Thermo Directs l quality inspection person, Quinton comes out. So now this is the 3rd person to come out and see the system ( 2 techs who installled the system initially and now this guy). Quinton looks around for a few minutes and says, "Yep, it looks good." Quniton proceeds to tell me there was an electrical receptacle that needed to be replaced. This guy had me taking him in my garage, attic, and back around the outside of the house to find this electrical repctacle that needed to be replaced. He couldn't find it. He called someone and said a few words with them shrugs his shoulders and says, "Oh well, everything looks good. I dont know what 'they' were talking about." He gives his stamp of approval and leaves. The county inspector came out a few days later and would not pass the HVAC system inspection because of they way Thermo Direct replaced my UV light on my furnace. The wake co inspector says, " they know they can not have that UV light attached to an extensioj cord. My firm request was if my UV lights could be reconnected to this new HVAC. Eddie told me on two different occasions that yes, they could be reconnected. However, when Thermo Direct reconnected the UV lights, they did not add an electrical outlet so that the light is dirctly plugged into an outlet versus the use of several extension cords sprawled across my attic. Hence, that was probably the receptacle that 'they' noted for Quinton to replace. At any rate, you would think it couldn't get any worse, right?! WRONG! Enters Eddie back in the picture advising me that I have to reomove the one and only firm request I had ...the use of the UV light on the new system. The very thing he assured me he could do. Of course, I tell Eddie that is not an option. At this point, Im upset because, as the experts that were referred to me by Duke Energy, how does Thermo Direct not know they could not install the UV light as they did. UV lights are not uncommon. So Eddie tells me well we can have someone come out and add an electrical outlet to plug the UV light directly into for $1300. So, in addition to the $8,000 I was initially quoted and paid, Thermo Direct is requesting that I pay more money because they failed to assess the needed material and labor to do the job. Thermo Direct sends their electrical guy out to assess the work needed to pass inpsection, he proceeds to stand in my living room and tell me the cost will be $500 and I needed to accept that quote before he left or pay him a $50 service fee. Service fee?!? For what? Why? At this point, Thermo Direct is clearly trying to bully/ intimidate me because I am a single black woman. Please single women beware!
Due to summer demand it took a week to get the AC. Excess electrical cable left under house.
The technician rapidly diagnosed the problem and repaired it promptly, for a reasonable price.
Jermaine was outstanding
High quality installation. Very responsive, courteous and friendly. More thorough than other companies regarding sizing and air flow needs/requirements for the unit being installed. They also seem determined to make sure you’re happy and comfortable.
