New boiler install... We can't say enough about the fantastic job installing our new Lennox boiler. From the Salesman/Estimator Jim Roach to the installers Joe Clark and Jimmy Hochstetler, they get a 5 star rating in every aspect. Jim was very professional and informative without being pushy or overbearing in any way. He answered all of our questions and made sure we were getting everything we wanted with a price that I feel was very fair. As for the installers Joe and Jimmy, they were very meticulous and went above and beyond during the whole installation process, answering questions and making sure everything was perfect. We 100% recommend Thornton and Grooms of Farmington Hills, and especially these three employees to do the job and do the job right!

Water Heater Installation and Replacement
My hot water tank went out and I hired Thornton & Grooms for the replacement. They responded promptly, scheduled within a couple days and installed it without any issue. It went so well I had them back to assist with a plumbing leak that I ran into a few weeks later. Very pleased with the service.

They did my water heater installation very fast, but very expensive. I paid over $2000. for the job, (almost twice what another company wanted), just to get it done quickly, (which is what the wife wanted).

Quoted $600-$800 to replace furnace fan (looked online after and found it for $300). Ended up paying $944. High pressure sales was half the visit. The next day, needed to call them again because fan stopped working again. It is the hottest week of the year, I have an elderly asthmatic mom here and an eight month baby. Furious!

Water Heater Installation and Replacement
I hired for a $99 sewer snake to clear out some roots. Snake got stuck in the sewer, which is fine because things happen. However, they said it would be 2 days until someone could come to take it out, which is problematic because where it was stuck completely obstructed any outflow, leaving me without service. After multiple calls, they came the following day to remove the snake and open my drain up with a hydro jet ($900) (no camera to confirm it was open). The following day, they came out with a camera and still showed roots. I was told to hydro jet again would be another $1400 because what I paid for before was a **jet to assess**, which was not disclosed upfront. My final complaint is that each plumber told me I needed a sewer liner (~$10,000) before any of them had even seen the sewer! After writing Thorton and Grooms a letter expanding on the above complaints, they contacted me the same day and scheduled to have someone come out to completely clean my sewer for free. My advice is if you hire them and they recommend a sewer liner, get a second opinion (some Cities will come out). To their credit, they did correct their initial wrongdoings, however, which is why I increased the rating to 2.5 stars.
