Tile by Donovan

Project started out great with a professional visit and estimate given for work and he was hired. Half way through the project he had family issues and needed us to pay the balance to help him then he developed health issues and was hospitalized. He sent untrained workers to do the work. Many mistakes were made and we became the project manager and had to use electronic translation to communicate with workers. That timeline was exceeded by two months. We asked for him to come do a walk through once out of hospital but he would not. Now we are having leaks that we are having to pay to fix . We are very disappointed with what seemed to be a quality professional who did not live up to his promises.

The contractor kept on charging me without doing anything, removed my vinyl tile flooring from my living room and dining room and did nothing after that. He was incorrect in assuming that we used concrete backer board. He removed it the next day. He charged for me $6500 dollars for a job that was not done.

Was extremely polite and got the job done quickly and was a very good job. Would definitely hire again or recommend to anyone

It is hard to fine a company that does what they say and complete the job on time and that has an eye for detail. Tile by Donovan such a company!! The tile work turned out better than I expected Thanks Mark

Mark, with Tile by Donovan has been great. His pricing was right in line with three other estimates I received. I chose to go with Mark/Tile by Donovan, because I liked Markâ s attitude and manners best. I split my tile projects into two separate jobs, as I was waiting on another contractor to install the kitchen countertops before we could get to the backsplash. I gave Mark an initial challenge by requesting he add a small wall of tile adjacent to a previous tile job on my master bathroom shower. As Mark began that job, we soon noticed there was a difficulty in that the previous tile person did not have precisely straight rows, so Mark had to make undetectable adjustments as he installed the tile to make it work. He did a fantastic job and you canâ t detect any movement, visually. I invited him back to install the second project, being my kitchen back splash. Once my countertops were installed, we realized there was a 3rd inch of gap between the center of the wall and the countertop, thanks to poor workmanship during drywall. Fortunately, Mark and Johnnie knew how to correct the issue by building up the wall prior to installing the tile. Mark is meticulous in his work. Johnnie, his partner is awesome too. Mark uses a laser to make sure his rows stay perfectly level. He made sure that the focal point was centered and worked out from there. Every row is exactly equal and lined up evenly from the counter, as well as the cabinets. I couldnâ t be more pleased. I wish I would have found Tile by Donovan when I first started my whole house remodel. Iâ ve had 4 previous tile people install tile in my house, each being subpar. Mark was the 5th tile contractor to work on my home. He and Johnnie are awesome. I would recommend them all day long. Not only is his work awesome, he and Johnnie are polite and respectful. They took care to respect my home as they worked, and cleaned up afterwards each day. He does a great job of listening to you and does well in executing those ideas into reality. Lastly, Mark is very responsive with his phone calls and texts. Heâ s easy to get hold of. He communicates the night prior to arrival and confirms his ETA in the morning. He also communicates if heâ s going to be late. He respects your time. Lastly, he went over and above by picking up additional materials for me and allowed me to reimburse him through Venmo. I wish I could leave pictures on this website, but it doesnâ t provide for pictures. Absolutely over and above. I highly recommend this team.

Mark did a great job replacing a broken porcelain tile in our lanai. He is very knowledgeable about all Phases of tile installation and repairs. We are more than pleased.

Mark was timely, professional and priced fairly. I would not hesitate to hire Mark again or recommend him to my friends or family.

Mark and Jonnie are very clean, well spoken. Each day the job site was cleaned throughly. The guys are highly trained in many facets of remodeling. Guess you can say they do it all. I'm trying them on various projects around the house. Next is exterior replacement pedestrian door followed up by a new cable railing system on back patio. Once the two new sliding glass patio doors arrive they will be installing them too.

On time arrival , finished on time , cleaned up the way it should be. They were aware of keeping the house clean by covering the floors. Looking to have some additional work. Very friendly and respectful.

They managed a difficult job w enthusiasm and persistence to get it done!!

Tile work is perfection. Only issue was with material supplies, I would recommend that the job not begin until everything is on site.
