Tim Moss & Sons Trades, Inc.

Along with an extensive remodeling project, Tim Moss and a former employee designed a replacement HVAC system from home. The design was flawed and none of the three systems installed works properly. The one unit installed by Tim Moss and this former employee was not the specified unit; did not have the exhaust attached (carbon monoxide risk); had the wrong coil; lost coolant by the second cooling season; had an improperly installed lineset; was not zoned according to code; and was never inspected. The HVAC board is investigating this. Anyone who has had an HVAC system installed by Tim Moss and this former employee should have the unit thoroughly inspected. The rest of the project had marginal quality work. I am still trying to sort out the plumbing issues. I hired an independent electrical contractor to evaluate the electrical system. I still have one overloaded circuit to replace. I have provided Moss and his attorney all of the documentation of the HVAC issues as well as pictures of the poor quality work or unfinished work. Moss has stated that it was not his responsibility. A downstairs bathroom that was completely remodeled by Moss had a shower and cabinet installed which were not square. Moss looked at a wall opposite the shower (one that his company completely redid) and asked why my original builder had not made it square originally. The usual response from Moss to complaints is to say that the project was harder than expected, not up to code, or that the customer was asking for free work. This could happen but since Moss holds himself out as someone who can do things other contractors cannot and he evaluates and estimates the jobs himself it leaves a tremendous number of questions about the company. When confronted with issues with his work, Moss becomes argumentative and hurls insults. At this point he threatens you with his lawyer. He also cuts off contact and makes any further communication go through his lawyer. I had refrained from making a complaint about this company until the amazing safety issues were noted with my HVAC system. The issues with the HVAC especially the unattached made necessary to pursue this.

They work hard. They made sure they did what i wanted and they were always on time. Really good personalities.
