Timberline Tree and Landscape is a family owned business that has been servicing Rockland, Westchester, and Bergen Counties tree service needs for over 30 years. There are many different aspects of caring for and servicing trees. Whether it is a simple pruning and trimming, or diagnosing various problems you may encounter with your trees. Timberline Tree and Landscape is the answer to your Tree Care needs. The staff at Timberline is educated, trained and have Certiﬁed Arborists on staff. Timberline is readily available, responsive and understanding to all of our customers’ needs. Timberline also offers SNOW WORRIES ~ commercial & residential snow plowing available. For more than 30 years Timberline Tree and Landscape has been providing residential, commercial and municipal clients with complete tree care. We specialize in everything from tree pruning to tree removal, emergency work and disease control. We strive to provide our clients with personalized one on one service.

I highly recommend Timberline Tree Service. The team was very professional, did a great job cleaning up and left nearly zero evidence of their trucks on my yard. Great quality work in a timely manner - and tremendous to work with. They will definitely be on the top of my list the next time i need tree services!

Timberline was excellent. They came on time, they were very careful (and had several very large trees to remove!), they cleaned up the site well, the office was easy to work with, and the pricing was very reasonable. I wold hire them again and I highly recommend them to others.

Very fast and professional team removed a massive tree for me within 3 days of approving the proposal. Then i had them remove two big stumps. They are a pleasure to work with and offered a fair price. Will for sure use again.

I highly recommend Timberline. A tree fell on my property after a storm and they responded quickly to come give me an estimate for the removal and they were able to come the next day to do the job. They cleaned up the whole area and even replanted a bush that the tree had fallen on. I also had them remove another tree on the property. I will definitely contact them for tree management in the future.

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. While HomeAdvisor will continue its background check program to the extent possible, these closures could prevent some background checks from being performed. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm local licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
