"Review by (consumer name withheld per their request), Project: Repair Drywall Comments: We spent 350$ for repairing our ceiling stain and we were still left with the stain after spending so many dollars. When I called Tom to fix it he said I didn't cause the water stain and I can do nothing about it. He doesn't respect or suggest on doing the project correctly. At the end we lost money and have to re do our ceiling again.? Thank you for taking the time to post the above review. Although I try to meet the clients' expectations, it is not always possible. Particularly, in this case, I believe that clarification is in order. The homeowner, Dee J. asked me to do the following two projects. (1) Repair the ceiling damage caused by a recent electrical repair done by someone else (2) Paint the ceiling damaged by a water leak from upstairs, also done by someone else I repaired the ceiling damage caused by the recent electrical repair to the client's satisfaction. According to the Home Advisor Resolution Department, house owner is satisfied with work indicates that they are satisfied with my work. I was paid $250.00 for the ceiling repair on 12/21/2019. The paint job to cover the stain caused by water leak is at issue here. First, the client provided water-based paint to use. When I told them that they need ?specially made oil-based paint? to cover the stain, the client provided the oil-based paint to use. I painted using the paint supplied by the client. However, I warned the client that the stain might not be all gone that touchups would be necessary. The client said they will take care of the touchups and asked for a paintbrush. So, I gave them a new paintbrush. I was paid $100.00 for the paint job on 12/23/2019. Subsequently, I received a phone call from the client that some stain is still visible. I reminded the client that I have warned them about such a possibility and how they wanted to take care of touchups themselves. I even gave them a new paintbrush for touchups upon their request. Then, the client changed the subject and started to make an accusation that ?I was very rude to her husband.? I explained to her that her husband was interrupting my work. I told him politely that I cannot work if he keeps interrupting. He apologized and went back to the couch and started to watch TV. She did not like my explanations about the interaction with her husband and proceeded to yell "I am going to report you to Home Advisor." Then she hung up the phone on me. The client sent a picture of the ceiling before my work to Home Advisor Resolution Department to complain about my work. I notified Home Advisor that the picture does not show my work. So, the client sent a picture after the repair. Now, the client is asking for a $375.00 refund ($250.00 for ceiling repair plus $100.00 for painting) and left the review above. In this case, I don't think I owe anything to the client as I have performed the work in accordance with their requests. I would appreciate it if the client will take the review down and modify it to reflect the situation as it occurred. A bad review can cause substantial financial loss in my line of work. I try my best to meet the clients expectations. You can see by the reviews online that almost all clients rated highly of my work."
