Do not hire Top Cat Chimney Service. This was one of the most frustrating contractor experiences I have ever dealt with. Currie took payment from our escrow during the home purchase, cashed the check, and then dodged us for almost two years. We repeatedly tried to get the work completed and were fed excuses, including claims that it was an ?accounting issue.? Meanwhile, nothing was resolved and communication was inconsistent at best. When he finally showed up, the job was still left incomplete. We had no choice but to hire another contractor to finish the stove installation and correct what was left undone. The original estimate also included pulling the required permit for the new stove install. That did not happen. That is not a small oversight. That is a serious part of the job, and it was listed in the scope. On top of the unfinished work, the professionalism was terrible. Top Cat was fantastic! They came in with a very reasonable quote and gave me detail about everything they would do. And they did it all. Chimney looks great. They were responsible and very respectful of the house. There was no ancillary damage or issues. Everything was done on time.

Very professional and great to deal with! Catlin is terrific and great to work with. Our project required reworking the gas line and custom retrofitting the facing. He did a terrific job replacing our 30+ year old unit with an amazing new remote controlled unit. The project was done on time and within budget as stated.

The technician was personable, and professional. He protected our floors when he did the chimney and fireplace cleaning and made recommendations that were based on the safety of using our chimney and fireplace rather than on his desire to sell a product. He is extremely knowledgeable about what he does and is not in such a hurry that he wouldn't explain or answer questions. The work was done efficiently and we are most pleased with it. I was particularly impressed with his commitment to our satisfaction and enjoyed learning about him and his family. Highly recommended for any kind of chimney work.
