Right out of the gate Pete was on time for the initial site walk and quote, which was very detailed. Top Shelf was not the highest or lowest quote we received but we were impressed with Pete and the fact that they were a local business, which is why we chose them. The crew that came out, led by Josh, was fantastic. Arrived early every day, worked very hard for long hours and stayed on track with their schedule. Josh kept things moving and his main crew of Larry and Jeff were great. Very polite and considerate of the fact that we were working and schooling at home, and more importantly were excellent painters. On day one they were joined by Jim to do all the initial prep of taping, laying down floor covering and putting up protective sheathing in prep for spraying all of our woodwork. It was a massive effort but they all worked very deliberately again under the professional guidance of Josh. When the job was complete, Josh walked through with us and immediately fixed the few minor issues we spotted. The finished job looks beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Based on this first experience I would say that this is a trustworthy, professional and experienced business represented well by the painters who did our job. They will definitely be our go to for future painting needs and we will have no reservations about referring them. Thanks to Josh, Larry and Jeff for an excellent paint job and experience, and also to Pete for his initial handling of the site walk, quote and follow up. He made our decision easy, and Josh and his crew proved our decision to be the right one. Thanks Top Shelf!

I used this company twice, Mike as been at our house both times, so Mkie Dannunzio, William Derrah and Steve Welch were so nice, professional, and respectful. The detail to cleaning up after themselves was refreshing . I will only use them and recommend to everyone who needs work done in their home. You will not go wrong fair price ( i got 4 quotes, even two cheaper) and still went with these guys. So hire them and relax

Top Shelf just completed painting our great room upstairs hallway stairway and foyer and it looks beautiful. The did a fantastic job repairing the tape lines and stress cracks and they repaired them the right way. They covered everything and I mean everything cleaned up everything everyday before they left out all there materials in 1 location. We have had other painters in the past it was an absolute nightmare it was a breath of relief hiring Top Shelf see you guys in the spring to paint our exterior.

The 3 day project took 6 days. One of the painters was caught drinking my alcohol on the job - so he was fired. Wife was very clear that the painters take great care to avoid getting spatter on the newly refinished hardwood floors. She was constantly cleaning the paint off the hardwood - and noticed a large ding in the floor that was not there prior to the painting job.
Response from Company:
We regret what transpired at Doug S. job. Unfortunately the actions of this one painter is not a reflection of the work that we do . When we were informed of the painter drinking on the job the project manager immediately went to the home and notified the police of the circumstances. We also pulled painters from other jobs to finish his up job up as to not inconvenience him more. At no time through the walk thru was it ever communicated that there was a ding in the floor ? Doug signed off on the job stating he was satisfied and also requested $700 dollar discount in which we did honor . To say the quality and customer service was a one is not accurate we went above and beyond for Doug S.

DO NOT USE, Top Shelf Painting (Peter Rinaldi) was anything but top shelf for us, more like the stereotypical shuck & jive contractor. I hired this company to do wet plaster repair ( which they did well) and to do interior paint work in multiple rooms. When the team arrived, I asked what communication had come from the home office to guide them through their work, and the team lead told me all I've got is this piece of paper which was a copy of the estimate. I also learned that this was his first job for the company. He made a lot of great repairs to our wet plaster, but the paint crew of established TS workers, including the project manager, was interested only in finishing quickly without any real regard for quality. They threw away some baseboard that was supposed to be re-mounted, missed a few square feet completely, painted a bunch of our windows shut, painted surfaces with little to no prep (could've had my teen do that) and left paint splatter on unpainted surfaces that took hours to clean off. When I called Peter during the process, he promised to call me back imminently and never did, instead handing it off to his project manager, who also didn't call. No one called me after the job was complete to see if I was satisfied, just gave the completion paperwork to the new guy to ask me to sign. Overall, no real regard for quality, just expediency. I should not have signed the completion papers, this was definitely an unpleasant learning experience for me. I've had a hardwood refinishing contractor and a carpet/flooring contractor in since the painting was completed, and both of those experiences were head and shoulders above this team.
