Get everything you want done in writing and how you want it done. The work done at my home was nothing like I expected.

The company responded quickly and showed up on time. I just needed my roof inspected for a mortgage refinance. He told me that the pipes needed new caulking to pass the inspection. He did not give me an estimate but went ahead and did the work. I was shocked when the bill came to over a thousand dollars on a roof that is less than 2 years old. Then he failed to give me paperwork verifying that I had passed the inspection. When I tried to contact him the phone would not let me leave a message. I had to hire another company to do the job. I would not recommend anyone hire him.

Attempted leak repair twice. The first response was fast, but it took a month to get them back out to follow up. Still failed to resolve the problem. Cost was over $300.

Topeka Roofing and Gutters contacted us right away and quickly scheduled an estimate. We felt comfortable with the bid and he got to work right away. The gentleman was professional, knowledgeable and hardworking. Would highly recommend!!!

Kevin Wilkerson did a sloppy very poor job and charged too much. Do not hire him unless you want to be scammed. He is not trustworthy. I would not recommend him to do anything on my house ever again.

Personable and on time

DO NOT use Topeka Roofing and Gutters. Kevin Wilkinson, the business owner, was hired to a fix a leak in my roof. He was on the job for maybe 2 hours and used maybe $50 of material (caulking) and charged me $2,412! Talk about price gouging! And, I am not even sure the leak is fixed. It looks like a 3rd grader with play doh was on my roof. Stick with reputable roofers and avoid being taken to the cleaners. As other reviewers noted, he wanted the check made out to him and not his business. I am wondering if the IRS should be notified. There is also no business logo on his vehicles. Never again!

Kevin was on time to do the job and very friendly. He gave me a fair price. I will use him again.

They called right away and did a great job

I have a leak in the ceiling of my kitchen. Not knowing who to call I did some digging on Angie's List. This was on Saturday 12/28/19. About a half-hour after inquiring I received a phone call with Kevin with Topeka Roofing & Gutters. He said he could come to look at my roof the next day which was Sunday. This seemed like someone going above and beyond to help the customer out. I agreed and the next day Kevin came out to look at my roof. He explained that some boots around the vent pipes were cracked and a couple of nail holes in a shingle or two. I asked him for his estimate and he said between $350-$500. I planned to get a couple of estimates but for $500 and my roof fixed I said sure. (My first mistake) Kevin said he could be back out in 2 days on Tuesday the 31st. On Tuesday Kevin made 3-4 trips up and down on the roof. Each time coming down with another problem why my roof could be leaking. He is supposed to be the expert, so I trusted him. (My second mistake) When it was all said and done my $300-$500 estimate was $1146.00. When Kevin left, I felt like I had been taken and I was disgusted that I didn' t get more estimates. But at least my roof was fixed¦or so I thought. Less than 2 weeks later, on 1/11/20, it began to rain both outside and inside. I called Kevin right then and there and got his voicemail. I explained on the VM that the roof was still leaking and asked what we could do about it and if he could call me back. I did not receive a callback. I called again on the 16th, again leaving a message, again no callback. I then called again during the week of the 20th, left a message, no callback. At this point, I am very frustrated. Both at the roofing company and at Angie's List. The whole reason I used their service was to protect me from the exact experience I received. I tried to call Kevin one last time on February 7th, 38 days after my original service, this time Kevin answered. I explained my situation about the fact he came out to my house, did some repairs, and that the roof was still leaking. He stated he didn't remember and asked for my address. Kevin said he would be at my house on the 2/10/20 at 1:00 to take a look. I left work on Monday the 10th and waited for Kevinâ ¦and waitedâ ¦and waited. After about an hour and a half with no one showing or calling I called Kevin. Much to my surprise, I got his voicemail. I left him a message explaining that I needed to get back to work and we would need to reschedule. As of 3/17/20, I have never heard back from Kevin or Topeka Roofing & Gutters. To make matters worse I recently went on my roof to take a look at what was going on up there. Kevin had told me I needed to repair nail holes in some shingles. I assumed this was to replace some of the shingles. Instead, it was to squeeze out some roofing caulk onto the nail. This was done twiceâ ¦at $165 apiece. I hope this review can save someone from the same mistake I made by using Topeka Roofing & Gutters. I also would suggest word of mouth before using Angieâ s List. I would like to leave this review on their website, but I have to pay to be a member to complain about their membership. I believe that would be my third mistake.

I would like to give Topeka Roofing and Gutters a 5-star rating, but unfortunately I cannot. Kevin reached out to me quickly and was able to give me a quote within a couple of days. However, Kevin told me he would get to my project by Friday of that same week, but did not complete the job until the following Thursday. The job was done well and the gutters are now clean. However, during the process they left a substantial amount of debris on my back patio and throughout my lawn. I recommend that if you decide to go with Topeka Roofing and Gutters, that you lock down a day.

On time and friendly

This was a fantastic experience. I was called within 20 minutes of posting the job on HomeAdvisor and set up a first meeting for the next morning. Within an hour of the time he arrived, we had agreed on doing the work that morning and he was done and more importantly our roof no longer was leaking! He is coming back in a week to now take care of our gutters!

Kevin gave a quick response after I filled out a request for assistance on Home Advisor. He arrived on time and was pleasant. I was a bit concerned that he arrived in a work vehicle with no company identification. It is my preference that the workers and their vehicles are identified in a professional manner. The invoice was also a generic invoice and he requested that I make the check out to him personally. BTW, is there a tax on labor in Lawrence? I wish I had taken the time to get another quote for this job, because the prices Kevin charged for the time spent on the repair were pretty expensive. I do not know the quality of the repair as of yet. I am hopeful that he did a good job though.
