Inspection Service
After the last two storms in June and July, our chimney started to leak rainwater into the brick over the fireplace and into the fireplace. I did an online review and found that Top Hat Chimney Service had one of the highest ratings, so I called for an appointment. Anthony responed quickly and we agreed upon an inspection date. He and Lou arrived, inspected our chimney, took photos and made his recommendations. He responded to all of my questions and we agreed on a repair plan. Incidentally, he checked our other chmney and made recommendations for it because it also needed some preventive repairs. We also decided to have him install a gas fireplace. We were extremely pleased that he could begin and complete the work on that day, since another storm was expected within 24-48 hours. Anthony and Lou did an outstanding job with the repairs and installation of the gas fireplace! Anthony graciously did a couple of extra things with the other chimney and we are especially appreciative!

I cannot recommend Anthony and his team any more highly. Daniel came to perform the work, and the team has been beyond equal. I have now had three separate jobs with them, and they are always punctual, informative, and aiming to work with me on my specific goals and timeline. I never felt pushed or rush, but rather counseled and informed with the decision ultimately being mine. I will trust no other company for my fireplace needs in my 1932 historic home. they showed up on time, came with everything they needed did the job correctly and left everything cleaned up at the end that's professional from top to bottom. had an old chimney that needed tucking, tile installation, the installation of a stainless steel cap and a custom poured crown. great communication, everyone was polite and personable as well. recommend!!

Chimney Cleaning and Inspection
I hired this company because of a smoke and burning wood odor coming from my fireplace. The previous owners used it heavily, and there was significant buildup. The technicians did not perform any meaningful assessment and went straight to a basic cleaning with very little scraping. The visit felt rushed and focused on completing the service rather than diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately, the odor became much worse after they left. What was once a manageable smell is now a strong burning wood odor throughout the first floor of my home. We can barely use the kitchen and living area. No one warned me that the smell could worsen after the cleaning or explained what to expect afterward. I was left with a bigger problem than when I started and recommendation to spend several thousand dollars to convert it into a gas fireplace. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

My house was victimized by last night's storm. That belongs on top of the chimney, not the neighbors' yard. I got on the phone first thing this morning. Two large companies offered me appointments for estimates next week. Anthony was out here and had the repair done by noon. He is very responsive, polite, and respectful. He was careful to avoid my milkweed with his ladder and tried very hard to not upset my overprotective dog who was traumatized by the roof blowing off my house. He had everything necessary on his truck and was done quickly, and well under other estimates. I am very glad Top Hat was available, especially as the sky broke open again tonight. Would absolutely recommend. Thanks for saving the day, Anthony!!

Daniel and Lou showed up to replace the liner and repair the chimney. They spent an entire day working hard and cleaned up after the job was done. The work done looks solid and good. Would definitely keep them on my list for any future masonry/brick repair jobs.

Thank you to Anthony and his team. He is right on point from the start he was the 1st professional to call me after prospecting businesses online, he was professional, friendly and truthful in his offering. My chimney cap needed replacement and water proofing on sections of my roof. The job was completed in 2 hours or less. He provided a receipt with itemized descriptions of what iI’ve paid for. 10/10 recommended. In today’s market it’s not easy to find trustworthy professionals. I called Top Hat Chimney and spoke to Anthony and explained my situation and how I had to get the gas fireplace inside up to code in order to sell the house the next week. Anthony was very understanding and was able to assist and did a wonderful job. He explained the work that had to be completed, provided before, and after pictures, and proof of what work was done. He was on time brought all the equipment needed, and the crew to get the job done within the specific timeframe needed. I would definitely recommend him if you need something with your fireplace or chimney!

Anthony performed his duties admirably. I contacted him, and he arrived at my residence within five minutes. Although I was not present, he assessed the necessary work. He replaced the cap of my chimney in no more than 15 minutes. He treated me with great consideration, as if I were a member of his own family. I informed him that I was not there and would return, to which he responded, "Please do not worry, I will handle everything." He subsequently contacted me, and he completed the job flawlessly. Five stars, or more than that if we had more than five stars.
