My pool boy damaged my glass pool tiles by pouring straight muriatic acid on them. It etched the grout, some of the grout fell out and the grout lines looked horrible. He then had a tile guy he knows come out and try to regrout it but that made it even worse. I found Total Pool Concepts on Home Advisor and have had good luck with contractors in the past. Leo called me immediately and I had him come out to look at the job to see if there was anything that could be done to fix it. He said they could saw the grout out by hand and then regrout with the proper grout mix. He was even adamant that I call our pool builder and get the exact brand and color of grout mix. My wife and I both expressed our concern about tiles being chipped, broken or damaged in the process. We did not want to take a bad situation and make it worse. Leo assured us that the tiles would not be damaged because they would be using hand tools instead of power tools. His price was fair and he seemed like a good guy so we hired him to do the job. He originally told us it would take a couple of days to complete the job. He started the job on Monday, September 18th around mid-morning. Unfortunately, we were unable to watch him during the grout removal process. I came in from work and he was already grouting my tile. For a job that was supposed to take a couple of days, he was done in about 6-7 hours! After he finished grouting, he called us out to inspect the job. We were both shocked, upset, pissed off by how sloppy the grout work looked and then we realized it looked so bad because he had damaged our tiles! They were chipped, broken and scratched to the point that we could see no conceivable way to repair them and the only option would be total replacement. It was at this point that Leo got irate that we would be unhappy with his workmanship. He basically called us liars saying he never said the tile would not be chipped or damaged and that he "did the best he could." He then said he knew from the beginning we weren't going to pay him because we "seemed like that type of people" and that we were trying to cheat him, which was absolutely NOT true. I would have gladly paid him had he done what he said he could/would do. He took a bad situation and made it worse. I ended up paying him a little more than half of the total job cost because he said he could come back and fix it. After he left, we inspected his work more closely and realized there's no way it could be fixed because so many tiles were damaged and we are now looking at having to find someone to remove and replace the entire section of tile. Leo's workmanship is sloppy and he lied to us. I would have rather him turn down the job than destroy our tile. At this point, I wouldn't let him back on my property and would NEVER recommend him for ANY type of work.

They've been working with us for about twenty years. Our pool is the top selling point on our rental property and the first thing people notice. Anytime there is a problem he comes out and takes care of it for a good price.
