Bed Bugs! Not only did my furniture and clothing get bed bugs from Trent Relocation, but they also broke my spring mattress by folding it in half, and took breaks they charged me for. The owner of the business, Conner, refused to send me an insurance claim form. I berated myself on the phone, which I recorded. I also have his texts. I do not believe they have any insurance as proof has never been provided or a claim form. They also state on their website that they do not have any liability for your walls or home damaged by their employees, and your items are supposedly insured at 60 cents per pound. He offered me a personal check for $60 for the mattress, again refusing to provide an insurance claim form. He then came to my work with a $200 personal check, never addressing the financial or emotional damage done. and told my employer, who is an attorney, that I was an extortionist for asking for restitution. Which Conner, the young man he is, does not understand is slander. I am now in the hole of thousands for the cost of bed bug removal due to CONNER. If anyone wants to dispute this, I have the texts and his phone calls recorded along with Conner in the lobby of my employer's slandering me.
Response from Trent Relocation, LLC
"Ms. Lewis, We are sorry you were unhappy with our inability to pay for a pest treatment for your home. The claim for the mattress was approved and paid as mentioned above. However, we have never had any other complaints about any type of pest whatsoever, nor could it be proven that your home was not experiencing a pest issue before our arrival or was in any way at fault for us. We go above and beyond to maintain the cleanest and most well cared for equipment possible to ensure a safe transfer of goods for our customers. We have done hundreds of moves before yours and many after yours, with no complaints whatsoever about pests of any kind, all using the same equipment. We do carry all insurance required by law to operate legally. We did not feel an insurance claim form was needed, since we approved your claim immediately after speaking to our crew and learning of the mistake. Your desire to contact our insurance company directly could not be accommodated. That is simply not how it works. Our policy is Burlington Insurance Company (JM Wilson corporation) , policy #910B001473 which carries a $2 million limit. Your allegations of us being uninsured is not based on truth and are only an attempt to defame our business. We did give restitution for your mattress, which we took responsibility for. I would also like to mention that the $200 check for the mattress was indeed what you requested so you could pay for a down payment on a new mattress to replace the 4-year-old mattress you already had. In regards to "paid breaks", we moved your entire home in less than 3.75 hours. When our movers finished the job on the day of the move, you complimented their work and thanked them for doing such an amazing job, and even tipped each of the movers on the job as a thank you for a job well done. The "paid breaks" were never mentioned until you left your review. Again in an attempt to defame our business. The problem only arose when you learned a week after your move, that your new rental had a pest problem. We were willing to and did pay above and beyond the amount your items were covered for. However, once litigation was mentioned for a problem we were not responsible for, we paid your claim, made aware the person whose name was invoked to us involving the litigation, and blocked all communications. We simply do not engage with a person who threatens litigation except through an attorney, especially for a problem that cannot be attributed to us. Many of the other claims in your review are simply incorrect and unfounded. We have never implied that everyone has pests nor have we ever came close to accepting responsibility for your pest problem. Again, we apologize you were unhappy that we could not pay for your pest treatment and we wish you well."
