Where do I start...I hired tri county to fix my house when a tree fell on it caused by a tornado. This was a complete second story rebuild. I met with them in June and they said they could start 1st week in September. The project manager was a great salesman so we decided to go with them. Worst mistake! They did not start until October. During renovation Tri county did not tarp my roof to protect it from rainfall when they installed plywood on the new roof and they flooded my entire 2nd and 1st floor. When I called and emailed they said they tarped it while I was standing on my first floor getting rained on. They assured me they would take care of it and They came by when we left tarped the roof and then used my wifes clean dish towels to clean the mess. They promised to remove all water with dehumidifiers and a water meter and take care of it. The 1st floor flooring buckled a month after the job was finished. The paint was peeling on the trim and stairs risers because they did not sand first. They cut the master bedroom closet poles too small so they fell every time my wife took a hanger off causing all the clothes to fall. Bedroom closet shelves were secured into just sheet rock and not wood studs so when they were loaded with our belongings they all came crashing down days later. They left our home unsecured and had to make a police report for stolen items from our home. They replaced a door handle set that went missing but not my wifes mitre saw that vanished from the garage. Every time a storm comes mild or severe the new siding they installed blows off in the wind and dangles from the house from multiple places. When they brought in dumpsters the dug a hole so deep in the driveway cause they did not put plywood down and when I brought it to their attention in an email the project manager told me he only protects sound macadam. I went off and should have fired them at that point but they assured me they would fix it. They fixed it poorly with cold patch. Electricians left broken outlet plates. Overall the job was sloppy hurried and half baked. I was sold a timely renovation with professional tradesman with years of experience. What I got was mostly an overpaid underwhelming scam. Things they did do well. Framing, change in roof pitch, and insulation was fantastic. Did not make up for the rest of the lackluster performance. I would not recommend them to my arch enemies! Beware!

Kitchen - Remodel
$32,000
We had a nightmare experience with this company. They subcontracted the job to others, and the owner only visited our home once (meeting before giving a quote) and never checked on progress. The first subcontractor was super nice but mostly worked solo--and did not do great work. After a delay of a full week, after we packed up our entire kitchen, work finally began. It took him 7 weeks to do a 4-week job. We told him to leave, and the second subcontractors were much better. They finished the job in a week. They pointed out all the things wrong with the first subcontractor work - loose floor tiles, bizarre lighting and wiring problems, a botched heating vent, sink drain not installed right (leaking), and a broken (new) faucet (that was not broken when removed from the box but was pretty easy to fix). Tri-County was supposed to provide a dumpster, as we ripped out our kitchen down to the studs, but there was no dumpster. The debris piled up on our deck and was then buried in snow. At the 6-week mark, they demanded a progress payment and then emailed and called 6 times in 8 hours asking us to pay. They finally told the subcontractor that they were pulling him from the job, the insinuation being that work would stop until we paid up. The money was not an issue, but such high-pressure tactics were awful and unwarranted. The company owner never called us to apologize, talk through issues or hear our complaints directly. He did not return any of our calls, ever. When we needed some final work done, they called in the first subcontractor, even though we had said we did not want him back. We eventually told them that we were done with them, even if the work was not, and are doing the very last finishing work ourselves. We have never had such a bad experience with hiring a contractor. The end result is beautiful, largely due to the work that the second subcontractors did. We would hire those guys again, but beware Tri-County.

Deck or Porch - Repair
We contracted last October for something that, if had been planned, should have been completed within 1-2 weeks. It is now going on 10 months. We signed the contract and gave a deposit in good faith as the foreman had a good understanding of what we wanted and the owner promised that a layout would be completed. Our project started well with a meeting with Tri Countys foreman, who subsequently left the company, we were not advised and the project went down hill from there. A layout was promised which was not completed. As a result, quite a bit of rework was required even though what was done was performed well. We needed to put into writing dimensions and sketches forwarded via email to Tri County which were not communicated to the craftsmen on site. This happened throughout the project resulting in our directing the project ourselves. Communication is sporadic at best. We call and only sometimes receive responses, written communication . Communication with this company has been more than difficult. We have not been contacted about project completion since early June. Do not sign a contract with this company without detailed plans, a timeline, and penalty clauses.

We had an aluminum fascia strip that came loose in a high, hard to reach area on our house. They came and quickly found a solution to reaching the area and replacing the strip. Great work and fair price!

I had a horrible flood on Memorial Day. Needed extensive work. Unfortunately there was the horrible "micro-burst" and tornado storm in early June. All the contractors I called who came out and looked at the job? 1. Never got back to me 2. Only wanted to do select portions of work 3. Said they couldn't do the work after they said they would. Dusty from Tri-County was honest from the beginning. Told me he had lots of roofing jobs but would do his best to come and see me. After being blown off by so many others? Dusty not only showed up but I knew immediately that he would see the job through. I needed a new kitchen floor, ceiling downstairs and carpeting for entire lower level as well as new walls. Always professional, always personable, my dogs love him, and he helped save me money. The workers are craftsmen at Tri-County, they don't just do things without thinking or having a questioning attitude and are always asking if there is anything else you need done to make the job complete. These people want you to be satisfied beyond satisfaction. I am hiring them again in the Spring for additional work on my home. So Tri-County made an unfortunate situation turn into a plus for me!

They responded quickly and professionally to my request, fixed the problem, and followed up with estimates for a project we might need down the line. He didn't try to sell me anything, but stands ready to help if we need it. i like that! Highly recommend!

We got hit with the tornado and they came right away as soon as I called. I was so impressed on how they treated us. Just like family! They were so supportive and understanding to our needs. Do not hire any other contractor. Definitely go with them. Nancy R. Lake Carmel, NY

The took pride in their work, treated my home as if it was theirs and were very prompt in getting the work done in a professional way. If I was not moving to another state, I would without question hire them again.

I made initial contact with James at 8 am. I agreed with his very reasonable estimate and his worker arrived by 4 pm and completed the job within minutes. James was professional and polite. I would not hesitate to refer others to Tri County... I will definitely keep his number for use in the future. Thank you, James and your worker!!
