Their bid was competitive to others. They were the last bid we got and were able to start immediately. They were extremely polite and worked very hard. Included in the bid was stump removal and trimming 2 shrubs. They told us the stump grinding would be done two days later. They wanted to get paid that day but because we had previously gotten burned over this same issue they took off the amount for the stump grind and said we could pay him directly and provided a number for us to call and confirm, which we did. Well into the project, they told us they did not have their shrub trimming equipment with them and would have to come back later. We asked them to just subtract that amount from the bid, which they did. It was clear from the start that disposal of the tree was to be included. We were told they would have to charge more for that but City of Greensboro would pick it up for free. We questioned that, but they were adamant. Our mistake was thinking they must know because after all, this is their business. We asked about bundling branches and cutting them into 5 feet or less lengths twice, but they assured us there was no need. So this morning the stump grinder arrives right on time, takes one look and the stump and says they left it too high, and he cannot do it for the price quoted. After a phone call from him and from my husband, Triad agreed to pay him the difference. Later today a representative of the City of Greensboro came by and tells us they will not pick up the debris because it is not bundled etc. and there is too much of it to qualify for free pickup. We call Triad and talk to Jordan. He tells us he has to pay dump fees, etc there will be another $300 charge. We offered to give him the name and phone # of the Citys representative, but he was not interested. He was non-negotiable. We reminded him, that we had questioned more than once whether it would be picked up by the city, and our comments about bundling etc. to which he responded well we do not know Greensboros rules, we are from Thomasville. I told him if he was doing work in Greensboro he should know the rules and not be presenting it to customers like he did. He then said **it is the homeowners responsibility to know that** Ultimately we made no headway. We decided they would not be rewarded with more $ so we have made other arrangements. It is important to note that with all this going back and forth had we paid for everything being added on, just to get what we originally asked them to bid on, they would have been our highest bid. The 3 stars for work quality is strictly due to the issue of the debris and not the actual work of tree removal.

The job for which I hired them had two parts 1) cut down a large dead oak and cut it into split able sections. 2) Cut a previously fallen oak into split able sections. In both cases they cut most of the way through the trunks, but did not separate them. (Guess who got to do that?) I had also asked that they cut the sections at about 20 inches, so that when split, the logs would fit in our burner. In fact, most of the sections were cut between 2.5 and 3 feet such that they wouldnt fit on a log splitter. In my opinion, they did as little as possible to make it look as though they had done the job. The workmen also kept asking us for soft drinks and snacks, saying they had not eaten breakfast. Why couldnt they have eaten before going to work? I would not invite them back.

"Well if the job wasn't completed to you specifications we would have easily done what was needed to make you happy. You stood in the back while we finished up and said everything looks good. And I apologize about the sizes being different we don't carry around a tape measure to make sure the wood is cut to exactly 20 inches. The drinks and snacks were offered we didn't stop that morning to get breakfast because we had a tire blow out so we started working and got food afterwards so we can stay on schedule. From this day forward I we will never except anything from customers. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

Excellent, had the job done in no time. Have to admit although they knew what they were doing, I watched the whole time and they scared me several times. I would recommend them to anyone. Excellent job for the money they charged.

job was quoted, and agreed upon, I was told it would take l-l .5 hours to cut a downed 40 foot pine. With the tree already on the ground, and no hauled away the $450 was too much considering it to 25 minutes. When asked about getting it to the curb, he said the price would double. I could not afford that, so I have piles of wood chunks sitting on my property.

Good talker. I honestly hesitated on hiring due to them looking a little rough .Started out at a fair price, then continued to go up. Found a down spout dented. Not impressed w the work, or clean up, spent nearly an hour and half raking after they left.
