"We are working with Angi Leads to dispute this review. The customer insisted on saving money any way he could, and while we understand the need to be financially responsible, it led to reusing subpar materials in the first pass on the roof. From Dec 2021 through April 2022, we attempted many times to work with Mr. Walters - up to and including paying for brand new Galvalume roofing material plus the cost of fabrication, purchasing and setting two additional center poles, closing in a side door on the barn, having new gutters fabricated when his originals could not be reused, and paying for the labor to remove the roof we just installed (the 40-year-old corrugated barn tin) and install the Galvalume roofing material at no cost to the customer. All after we initially told the customer his material was not going to hold up. Additionally, we let him have use of the Skytrax while it was onsite to move a rainfall collection tank and moved an industrial freezer for him - without cost. His attempts to "make sure the work was done right" only added to the convoluted experience for everyone - our team members were disrespected repeatedly on the job. The 30+ pictures he mentioned are of the attempt to help him do the job under his direction the first pass and save him money - and we agree it was a terrible idea that cost our company in the end. The gutter seams currently leak because Mr. Walters would "water test" the gutters and send us pictures of the leaks before the caulk was able to cure. We sent crews out 3 times, without cost, to reseal them and attempted to explain to him that the caulk needed 24-48 hours to cure before wetting them. We attempted to explain this to him multiple times before declining to return. This customer contacted me in April after the billing was finally sent for work completed repeatedly at our cost over 3 months, advising he would leave a negative review if we did not reduce his bill by a substantial amount. That said, although this has not been a good experience for either side of the transaction, it is not an unexpected review. However, every attempt to reach an agreement, short of reducing his bill further after adding work and materials, has always ended with interactions much like the one above. As much as we are aware it can hurt our reputation, we cannot see a resolution to this situation. We can only hope that potential customers can weigh both sides and make a decision for themselves. Original Scope agreed: ** START** We hereby submit specifications and estimates for material and labor for the RECONSTRUCTION OF POLE BARN SPECIFICATIONS *Remove 48'x26' metal roof from pole barn *Removing lathing and trusses - 12 runs *Remove metal walls on 2 sides - Salvaging as much as possible for reuse *Remove box gutter from front *Replace 6 posts *Install new wall lathing for barn 26'X24' *Frame walls to 10' height *Build new roof w/ new lathing and trusses *Install lean-to roof on the south side of barn *Reinstall box gutters on front and back sides *Manipulate electrical at the south end of the barn and install lights *Site clean-up and debris disposal ** END**"
