Central A/C Installation
A few years ago, we hired Larry Trost to install a new air conditioner. After installing it, he promised he was going to get an inspection but never did. We had already paid in full, so we did not have much leverage. Finally, after a dispute, we hired a different company to do a yearly inspection. Today they showed us the plenum was not installed correctly, and it probably would not have passed inspection. The metal support brace that runs under the air handler should have extended out to support the plenum, but it does not. The man went up into the attic to check if the plenum box was attached to the ductwork mechanically, and it was not. As the tape and mastic holding it up get wet from normal condensation, it can make the plenum sag and pull away from the ductwork.
