GFI plug was not installed correctly. Had to hire another electrician to correct. Was charged extra for a second person to be there, although that person appeared to be in training.

The reason for the 4 rating is that Jonathan could not, or did not suggest that he could resolve the problem with the bathroom base plugs. He did tell me and showed me that the key wires in the main plug was disconnected either in the walls somewhere or under the flooring ( I live in a mobile home) so I knew that would be a very large job. He also advised that the problem with the ceiling fan was the fan itself and not the wiring. I didn't see him test the wiring, but I'm sure he did because he tested the wiring in the other problem areas. I asked him to take down the ceiling fan and he did. He did resolve the problem with lighting in the outside work/storage building by replacing the breaker to that area. I felt he was very knowledgeable and gave me good information for me to move forward. He was never identified as Troubadour Electric, only by the name Jonathan by both HomeAdvisor and by himself. I would hire him again and he gave me his phone number just in case I had an additional electrical project.

This company put in a new panel box but did not connect all the wiring to such things like the upstairs A/C. nor was everything labeled to tell what breaker went to what. The outside bubble covers did not have cutouts in order to be used. Additionally, upon being called around 4:30pm on a Friday and told the work was completed early (I was out of town), Allan demanded I go to the bank right then and transfer payment to his bank account. When I mentioned it said on his HomeAdvisor web page that he takes credit cards he said he asked HomeAdvisor to take it off because he does not take credit cards. I explained I could not just leave my job but would take care of payment the next morning which was Saturday. My banker called Allan to make sure the routing number and account number he gave me were correct and to tell Allan that payment would not reach his bank until Monday. My banker said Allan was angry about the delay but nothing could be done to speed up the payment process even if it had been done on Friday the day before. After the instant demand for payment by transfer of funds, some connections in the panel box not done, no convenient way to use the outside electrical sockets because the bubble covers were not cut out, I had to hire another contractor to fix what this company failed to do.

I called HomeAdvisor looking for an electrician to install an outdoor outlet, knowing it would be a challenge since there's no direct attic access or an accessible outlet within close proximity. Allan arrived almost immediately and quickly identified the solution. He was creative and certainly very seasoned. He worked very efficiently and completed the job to my satisfaction. He even preserved the Z-wave switch I had installed and positioned the new outlet in an ideal position for its purpose. I would recommend him for any job; large or small.
