About us
TruCraft Contracting was founded in 2004 and we specialize is custom deck construction. Building a long-lasting high-quality deck requires attention to detail throughout every step of the process, from the structural engineering, to the material choices, to the building of the deck, through the finishing touches. TruCraft uses engineered lumber for framing, high quality fasteners and water protection, and quality composite decking materials. Our goal is to make your deck feel like more than just a deck, but as an extension of your home.

"When we finished the deck (6 months ago) I showed the client a picture taken of the broken vase from before we moved it. That was the last that it was mentioned until this review 6 months later?!?"

"The comments above are almost all false. Mark took on this project himself and acted as his own General Contractor. He told me that they had a limited budget for the project, so I provided a subcontracted crew that I had worked with in the past at a highly discounted rate. Mark acted as his own general contractor/designer/architect/engineer/purchaser on the project. Making sure everything passes inspection is the job of the designer & project manager. We were only the subcontracted labor. He mentioned details that were in the contract; but there was no contract, only a verbal agreement on the cost of the labor we were to provide. After the project and entire punch list were completed and the final amount was paid, Mark needed some additional work done (railings, stairs, etc.) so we agreed on an hourly rate. After a few weeks of work, we discontinued work due to non-payment. The negative comments/review only came after we sent the notice to put a lien on the property. If our work was subpar, why would he continue to use us for 5 months? He claims that my project management skills, ability to execute a large project, ability to estimate, etc were "below average", but this wasn't my project! The homeowner took on a project himself that he wasn?t qualified to manage. His project went over on his timeline and budget and now wants to blame the hired labor."

"Thank you for the kind review. I love the way your deck turned out!"
"Thanks Tom. You and your family were great to work with!"
"The customer hired us to replace the decking surface. After we removed the existing decking, we saw that the original substructure was poorly built and rotting. The deck frame was sagging and wasn't level enough. Before moving on, we discussed replacing the necessary structure with the homeowner; but they declined. After the deck material was installed and finished, they were very unhappy with finished product due to some sagging and other issues related to the deck frame. I wish we could have been allowed to finish the project the way that would have been necessary for everybody to be satisfied."
"Thank you for the kind review. I really enjoyed the time I spent with you and Mary Lynn!"
