Unreliable. Poor workmanship.

My husband and I partnered with Scott Hamele, and True Grit, to create our dream kitchen in the fall of 2022. We put down over $11,000 on September 23rd and were beyond excited to make our dream become a reality. Unfortunately, working with Scott and his team at True Grit was less than a dream. From our experience, we found Scott to be unreliable, unprofessional, and unethical. In addition, the quality of work he provided was very disappointing and did not meet our expectations, nor the expectations of the other contractors we used on this project. We are well over 6 months into our project and have paid over $18,000 (shame on us!). Our cabinet part of our kitchen remodel is still not complete, and we were recently told by Scott they will not finish the remaining few items, nor will they schedule an end-of-project walk-thru. We write this review in hopes that no one else has to go through what we went through with our kitchen project. We would never recommend Scott Hamele, True Grit, or any other company that he is associated with.

True Grit is truly a delight to work with -- they are visionary, creativity, have an insane attention to detail and communicate well.

Scott is always a pleasure to work with. He is the consummate professional; timely responses and quality craftmanship. I highly recommend, without reservation.

We received multiple beautifully made cabinets & the most perfect mid century modern desk for our new home. Everything was even more perfect than we couldâ ve ever asked for. We are more than happy with all of our custom built pieces and we will definitely be getting more!
