Twin City Construction, LLC

We contracted with Mr.Jeff Storhaug from Twin City Construction, LLC (Deadwood, SD) on July 6, 2022, to replace shingles, facia, and any rotten plywood. The cost of plywood was extra. The entire contract was $28,000 with our giving him a $10,000 down payment that day. July 15, all work was completed and Mr. Storhaug demanded payment in full as he was leaving for his vacation in Arizona. With extra plywood cost, the remaining balance was $18,300. We paid in full that same day. We received a certified letter on September 14, 2022, stating an $11,801.12 lien was placed on our home for non-payment of our roofing materials. We had paid Mr. Jeffrey Storhaug money to pay Builders First Source, but he never did. I called Mr. Storhaug the following day, the day after, and the following Monday and Tuesday. He has NEVER returned any of my calls. We received a phone message from Mrs. Storhaug (Kate) at the end of October promising the bill would be paid and it was the fault of Builders First Source for a simple misunderstanding. That was untrue as we received a phone call on November 30 (7:50 AM) from Goldman/Walker, a collections agency, demanding full payment. So, our $28,000 roof job bid turned into a nearly $40,000 roof job and may affect OUR credit. I wish the Storhaugs from Twin City Construction, LLC, Deadwood, South Dakota Happy Holidays and know you should feel enriched by any means of your choosing. I am 71 years old and he will do this to anyone. Remember the name of the contractor because he changed his business on me.

Jeff Storhaug a partner with Twin City Construction LLC of Deadwood South Dakota took a $23,305 deposit, 1/2 of the total cost, to tear off and shingle with Euroshield HP Vermont Slate, tear off existing siding and install house wrap and 4 Tru Cedar siding, wrap windows and three entryways, wrap three front pillars, replace 16 storm windows, install ridge vent and new fascia over gable ends. His workers installed shingles on house but not on my shed, which was part of the job. He returned to the job sight and absconded with the shingles which were ordered and were intended to complete the job. I have called him 23 times and received no answer. I did manage to reach him when I used a different line to make contact. He told me he was waiting on parts on the two occasions I managed to speak with him. The contract was accepted on June 9, 2021. Today the date is October 2, 2022. My new contractor called him five minutes after I made my last failed attempt, Storhaug answered on the third ring, so he is screening calls. . No effort has been made by Storhaug to return any of the money he received for the contract he defaulted on. I have gone to the Lawrence County Sheriffs Police and filed a criminal complaint against Storhaug, it is currently being reviewed by the Lawrence County States Attorney, John Fitzgerald. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR THEFT OF PROPERTY AND FRAUD. Andrew J. Hentz

Jeff likes to talk down to clients He blows up when you try to help give advice about my roof He is not costumer oriented He tried to get me to buy flashing I did not need , He bought other flashing I already had coming and it was 4 1/2 times what I paid and he thought I should pay for it None of the gable end corners were put on straight Screws nails and small pieces of steel were not picked up Left over screws and the small plastic container I had them in were taken Jeff said he would take $200 off if he could start right away When it was time to pay the final bill he did not take it off until I showed him his text about that. Be carful of him. I would not recommend him.

Very rude, does not do quality work, does not fixes his mistakes would not recommend to anyone for any project.

The owner is very unprofessional with his communication. He does not clean up well. He stated that he had cleaned up all nails which were not correct. Most of these were found in the fenced-in area for my pets. He lied about the time that the shingling was to be done.

Hired in May 2020 to repair hail damage to house. After many calls and reminders, a crew from Nebraska replaced the barn roof. Well done. However, Jeff never showed up again. He received a deposit of $3500.00 to finish damage to house. Never came back! I called and texted many times, finally showed up in September and measured replacement window. Called several more times and living room picture window was dropped off in garage. After two more months of calls and texts, in November I gave up. Huge picture window is still sitting in garage. Save your money, this company won't do the job. They take the money and run. Do not; be fooled by Jeff, he talks but he does not walk

Came out, looked at job, limited solutions for repair, never sent bid. We felt like job was not big enough to bother with.

Reasonable bid, started quickly, finished quickly in spite of weather. Very knowledgeable, very courteous and helpful.

I have been trying to get shingles put on since last summer finally in March job is done.

Twin City said they would be here on a certain date and they were. Said they would be finished on a certain day and the work was completed. Great team! I would highly recommend Twin City Construction for anyone needing roofing work no matter how challenging. 👍
