Scam Alert. Hired Ulster to repair my dishwasher. I was told that a new part had to be ordered and was charged immediately. When Ulster was supposed to show up a week later, I texted and got a response that they were not coming since the part that came from the warehouse was "damaged" and another part had to be ordered. It would have been good to know ahead of time they weren't coming. I had to wait another week. Week later, same story - no show. Texted again, and I was told that Ulster was no longer coming since the part was no longer available by the manufacturer. Again, would have been nice to know this ahead of time and not waiting for two weeks. I was told that the refund was going to be sent, but I have yet to receive the check with calls/texts not going through. Please stay away from this business.

I hired him to find out why my clothes dryer was not getting hot, My issue is he made the problem worse, he ordered a new part and mis-installed and blamed it on the electricity. He did not show up on the day he was supposed to and did not call. I had to call him to find out he was going to come the next day. I ended up hiring another appliance repairman and he told us that Darius was reason it did not work, was able to do a minor repair to get it to work and told us the part he installed was done incorrectly. 2nd guy charged me a quarter of what he charged me and apparently I have a new part that I did not need. When we tried to get this resolved he offered to come back out on Tuesday and this was Saturday when other guy came to fix. And dryer is working perfectly now. I feel Darius should give me a refund.

This guy straight up robbed me. I paid 305 bucks for the repair to my oven. He needed to order a part which we paid for in advance. He stopped returning my calls and now his number is disconnected. Steer clear of this man. HomeAvisor... what is your solution to me being robbed by your service?!

Darius Smith is unethical! My repairs were never done even though I had to pay up front, cash or check only no credit cards! Promises of a full refund are just empty promises! He will block your phone number so you cannot reach him! Stay away, stay far far away I gave this business 0.5 stars which is far too many.

Very poor customer service. Changed initial appointment at last minute; showed up next appointment, diagnosed problem, charged overnight shipping for part; I paid more than 1/2 the cost for installation and made appointment in two days. They were a no show, and did not call to inform. Found part on Amazon for less money, free shipping. Darius wanted to change over $40 for shipping and $150 labor to install a fridge fan that took 10 minutes to install. He said he would refund money minus initial service call. Never refunded money, never answered emails. He is a liar - definitely check out the other negative reviews: appears to be a very disturbing trend of not showing up, overcharging for jobs, making excuses, taking money upfront, suggesting he will provide refund but does not. Steer clear of this clown. Seriously.

I hired this company to repair my home washer. They were the first ones to call, and they got my business. Two guys showed up the same day as contacted (11/11/2019). They quickly identified the problem or at least that what they said. After checking the clogged drain they told me that I need a new pump and gave me a final total of @380.21 which I paid using my credit card. They then agreed to come with the parts on Friday between 6p-6:30p and my wife had to leave work early to be there when they arrived. So far so good. But they never showed up. No call No Show. When I tried to contact them their office is closed. So I wait and wait. Today at 11/16 one of guy calls me to let me know that they will there between 12p-2p. I asked what happened yesterday, and he had the audaucity to tell me that I was wrong and that it was scheduled for today. I have the work order and invoice to show that we agreed on Friday, and he kept lying to me to the point I had enough of his lying. I cancelled my contract and I told them I want my full refund back. They said he will have the full refund mailed back to me. If they do not keep this promise they I know what to do!! This is the most unprofessional and ruthless liars I had ever dealt with. Do not use these guys again.

The tech diagnosed the problem to be a faulty drain pump and gave you a complete estimate and return date to complete repairs which were 11/16/19, Sat 8-10 am. You were never scheduled for service on 11/15/19. You approved the estimate and the return date with your signature. A refund check for the amount of $244.75 will be mailed to you in 7-14 business days. Thank you for choosing Ulster Appliance Repair."
