Asphalt Shingle Roofing Installation and Replacement
Meeting with them was very nice. They were on time and the work was completed efficiently. But the quality of work was terrible and the contract was not fulfilled. As you can see from the pictures rafters on my roof where supposed to be cisterned in instead they were cut off and toe nailed in. Also a rain diverted was supposed to be included on the roof and was never done. I reached out and mentioned the problems, was told they would be fixed and then no one ever showed up!

This is a follow-up to my original review written on 8 October 2019. I do not know how to edit/delete my original review on Home Advisor so this is the best I can do. On 23 October I was contacted by phone by Alan and John who are project managers at United Home Experts. They had just read my 8 Oct review and wanted to speak with me about how my issues could be addressed. They apologized for the time delay (which resulted when the incorrect siding was received) and for not replacing the rotted plywood sheathing. In addition to the originally- agreed-upon $300 lowering of the project cost they added $250 to that amount. My credit card was credited with $550 on 25 Oct. I have increased my rating from 3 starts to 5 stars since I am now very impressed by their desire to do whatever they must in order to maintain their historical good reputation. But as I stated in my original review, I still strongly suggest that the homeowner try to be home while the work is being done so as to catch any errors/problems before they occur. But then this is a good suggestion with any contractor, not just United.

The crews did a fine job removing worn cedar siding and installing new Everlast composite siding onto one side of my home. My issue is with the project management. The contract was written to install new siding to match the profile configuration of the remaining walls, namely 4-1/2â . On the day the crew began to install the new Everlast I had something to do in the morning and did not arrive home until after the crew had already begun to install the Everlast. The moisture barrier had been installed, which was fine, but to my shock, the siding that they were installing was 6-7/8â Everlast and not 4-1/2â . Fortunately they had only installed two courses at that point. The workers contacted the project manager and stopped work. The explanation I was given was that the warehouse sent the wrong siding (I find that unlikely. More likely the wrong siding was ordered by United). Fast forward a full week, the correct siding was delivered. Keep in mind that it was necessary to have Solar Panel electrical meters removed in order to facilitate the new siding install. During the down time I was not generating any solar electricity so time was money, in this case. When the project was originally scoped out by the on-site appraiser, I mentioned that there was an area where the plywood sheathing had rotted, due to rain getting under a carriage light. He assured me that replacing bad sheathing was all part of the job. I also mentioned this to the project manager when he came out to my home prior to work beginning. I even wrote a reminder note, with a magic marker, on the old siding at the area that needed the sheathing replaced. Well despite my best efforts, the rotted sheathing was not removed and the new siding was installed over that rotted sheathing. I knew there was a problem when I pushed against the mounting pad for the carriage light and it was wobbly. The crew had attempted to anchor the mounting pad using screws, instead of nails, but of course they were just screwing into rotted plywood. When I spoke to the project manager I told him I did not want any siding removed to address the plywood issue. I told him that I would personally attempt to correct the mounting pad problem by working from inside the garage interior wall. Per my request he agreed that United would lower the price of the job from $13,300 to $13,000 to reimburse me for my time to correct the problem. Well, my credit card was charged for the full $13,300. I left a voice mail with the project manager and asked him to correct the credit card charge. Itâ s now been two weeks and my credit card has not been credited with the $300 correction. The other day I spent about three hours fixing the mounting pad by securing it to the interior sheet rock. The new carriage light is now firmly installed. IN CONSLUSION: If you choose to go with United Home Experts I strongly recommend that you consistently keep an eye on their work during all phases of the project and do not use a credit card to pay but instead write out check(s).

Had work done on windows and siding last year. Loved the consultation process, very professional, straight forward, and easy to understand. The consultants were on top of every aspect and available anytime we had a question. The contracting team worked diligently and super conscientious about noise and cleaning up. The United Home Experts team was professional and fast, diagnosing and repairing our issue seamlessly. This was a retrofit and some of the windows were too tight and some were too loose. The call to get that fixed was answered immediately and the Marvin windows have worked really well ever since. They've been working great for a couple of years now. I would definitely get Marvin windows again and would use United Home to install.

We would certainly recommend them. Mike was very informative and explained the process very well. We were very impressed. The men who removed and replaced our siding were polite and worked hard in cold weather. They kept our yard clean from the old siding and finished the job timely. The final paint job on the house was done really well. We gave our neighbor United's card for his siding. It looks great!

We enjoyed meeting with Larry to discuss our project. John, the project manager, was great to deal with as well. Our only complaint was that we felt as though the workers might have rushed to finish the job and we had to call to have them come back to fix a few minor spots. They did come back quickly and make the repairs we requested. So, overall, we were happy with United.
