Kitchen - Remodel
Contractor ran away with all of my deposit money. The work on our kitchen was never started, and all of our money that we saved for the project is gone. So, is the contractor - a warrant is out for his arrest, but his where-abouts are unknown.

Wood Fence - Install
This company cheated us $4,000 and left town. Rick, one of the owners, left town with about $100,000 and left projects undone. One poor woman's husband is in Iraq, and she and her two small children have to shower at the neighbor's house because he took out the shower and toilet, and left. We found out that the partner who stayed was not even bonded or insured. He simply said that he has to go out of business and couldn't reimburse anyone. Please, please check out these things before recommending them for services.

Major Home Repairs (General Contractor)
Very sloppy work from some subs. Contractor never finished the work. He ran out on my project 19 April 2004. I cannot locate him now. The subcontractors are putting liens on my property. So far, the subcontractors that were not paid were for the HVAC and carpentry, totaling $8400. This means that Rick Lohoefer, of United Tradesmen, Inc., has allegedly stolen at least half of the money I paid on my contracts. As far as I know, neither he nor his partner, Robert Steinborn, have paid these subcontractors that were hired by United Tradesmen. Litigation is now pending and United Tradesmen has made no attempt to finish the work, pay the subs, or negotiate a settlement through arbitration. Robert Steinborn responded to the suit stating that he is not responsible, although he is the registered agent of United Tradesmen, Inc. Therefore, he is responsible, even though he's trying to hide behind a corporate entity. I am considering pursuing this matter in criminal court. The District Attorney and the police department have been notified. WARNING: stay away from this company and its pricipals: Rick Lohoeffer and Robert Steinborn. They are crooks. Michele Reed, who allegedly works for United Tradesmen, has also stood me up on several appointments and has done nothing of merit to resolve my issues. WARNING: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

Deck or Porch - Repair
Promised completion to a short schedule and failed miserably. Still awaiting confirmation of completion more than a week later.
