I think what he used on me might be called bait and switch. I would not recommend him to anyone

Universal Contracting did a great job - they scraped all of our popcorn ceilings, prepped and painted smooth ceilings. This was such a messy job, but they kept the mess to a minimum. They worked very hard to make sure this process was as clean and manageable as possible. The ceilings look great - I can't find one blemish. Very professional and hard working.

James was responsive and attentive to detail. I would not hesitate to retain Universal for other projects I will be undertaking in the near future.

Not a good experience at all. Project started on May 4 and as of today it is not completed correctly. Custom tile shower is shoddy work. Grout lines not even,different sizes,walls uneven,drain not in middle of floor. Tried to work out solution with James. No luck. We are in the process of taking further action to resolve this mess.

They were prompt, on time, clean and did an excellent job of preparation work before painting and the painting itself was excellent. I will use them again for interior painting. The contractor James and the painters Ralph and Steve were pleasant to work with. The bid did not include the paint itself, which to me is a better way of hiring a painting service as this allows the homeowner to choose the brand and quality of paint. A bid that includes the paint will probably include a lower quality paint.

James was courteous, skilled and very pleasant. I would not hesitate to hire him again if the occasion arises.

James was excellent to work with and was a true professional. He is knowledgeable, efficient, organized and has an excellent crew. The two members of his team who actually did the work in my home (painting a very large wall area, scraping and refinishing popcorn ceilings, and painting kitchen cabinets) were polite, punctual, and were very professional and conscientious about the quality of their work. After the crew finished, James came back for touch up and inspection. I would definitely use the company again and will gladly recommend them to others.

Worked closely with me and offered ideas on repairs. very friendly employees who worked hard and seemed dedicated to performing top quality work. Plan on using them later for inside painting.
