Drywall - Install
Joe has a professional team they was polite and courteous they tore out the dry wall in my upstairs which is 2 bedrooms rewired it so now I have lights installed insulation so my house is full insulated fixed the leak on my back porch so my roof no longer leaks. the job looks total professional I could not be more happy if I every sell the place they get a big thank you.

A Positive Experience In particular I liked that Joe provided a reasonable estimate and came in at the estimate. Plus services were professional, I especially liked the drywall work. Getting the house at auction, there was a lot of work needed, some of it unexpected. When a situation like this arose, I found Joe fair and easy to work with to acheive a reasonable solution. So overall I am quite satisfied with Joe and the rest of the crew at Universal Interiors and will be be contracting for additional work inthe spring.

The men did an excellent job. They cleaned up after the job was done and they worked very hard on the job. The new door looks great and the replaced floor and new tile they put down was superb; We appreciate all the work.

Interior Trim and Decorative Moldings Installation
Out of necessity I may need to use them for phase two of the project but will make sure we have a clear understanding of my expectations (i.e. all trim will be stained completely before it is installed and joints will be cut at a 45 degree angle. If their workmanship shows improvement, I will increase their rating and change my answer about recommending them.

Scheduling was a problem for them; particularly because our project was in two parts and they didn't get back as quickly as they said they would. Other than that, I am very happy with the work they did and I would still recommend them.

Deck or Porch - Repair
bathroom paint job was poor at best. the painter left the bathroom in a complete mess, no clean-up at all. i had to touch up the painter's job, not to mention the clean-up. my screen in deck, there again. i had to fix holes that were left in the screening. still working on fixing the holes. not being picking. the screen in deck has one object, KEEP THE BUGS OUT. William and John, the workers, were nice and polite. i would suggest that they review and check there work, a little closer.

Interior Trim and Decorative Moldings Installation
The young men sent to my home were courteous and some of the work was quite good. However, a few of the joints on straight runs where one piece meets another are not up to professional standards. I questioned the workman on the first piece he installed on why he didn���t use a 45-degree mitre instead of a butt joint and his partner said that after we painted, we would not see it. BIG OVER STATEMENT. Funny thing was, the young man had the talent to do the cuts to make it look more presentable. I hired a company to make sure that it was done right, I am disappointed.

Joe was very diligent from the get go about getting my business. I did not initially return his calls because my phone showed them to be from Louisville. I appreciate how aggressive he was in taking on the job. Once we agreed on the terms, he moved very quickly. While my original request was to make an interior repair, he did an inspection and found my roof still had significant leaks. He was able to provide an estimate and the job was completed over a weekend. He helped me get everything I needed together, and he was very good about following up with one or two minor details that required a little extra attention.

Joe and his assistant did a good job fixing a water damaged area of my bathroom. They were able to wrap the project up quickly and even came back on a Sunday to finish it up. It looks great, and I'd work with them again. I actually already requested quotes on two other projects.

All in all I am very pleased with my bathroom. I was on a limited budget , and the crew worked wonders giving me what I needed. They went the extra mile to correct any snafus that occurred and came back in a very timely manner. The quality and workmanship was very good, any exchanges or returns of merchandise was handled in a professional manner. I would recommend Universal Interiors for your remodeling needs, again they are VERY customer friendly, and they want you to be happy with your results!! I'm pretty sure you will be.

Drywall - Repair
Joe did a great job of showing up on time, on short notice, and was done after about 2 hours of work. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The wall that he worked on was all knotted and bumpy where the tape was. I called a different professional to get a second opinion. The new professional spent the next day fixing the wall and finishing the job(correctly). Joe also touched up a ceiling for me. He told me that he didn't bring the tool with him so he improvised and it did not look well at all. We sanded it all off and had the new professional fix it. Finally, WAY overpriced. charged me $300 for 2 hours of unfinished work.

"David, I have 20 yrs experience in interior projects You agreed to (lightly sand) the finish coat so i could get back to my crew. the first coat and tape was applied properly and sanded. the second coat or the finish coat was left unsanded as you had agreed to do so. The only scenario for the wall to have tape showing through is if the finish coat was over sanded. As for the fee, i made special arrangement for you that day which really put me in a bind but i wanted to help you out. so i had to be comped for fuel charges. I do apologize you felt the job was unsatisfactory. if the finish coat was sanded properly. there would have been no"

EXCELLENT SERVICE! THEY WENT WAY BEYOND JUST DOING A JOB. SAVED ME MONEY EVERY CHANCE THEY HAD, KEPT ME INFORMED, AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB.
