I hired UPI after researching reviews that seemed positive however my experienced was not so. This was a simple remodel of a dated shower. I purchased all the materials and just needed the work executed. -They left trash and all demo'd materials on my front curb. I protested this and they did move it to the alley way. However they wanted me to engage others to handle the trash removal. Mind you we talked about this prior to work starting as I wanted to ensure it was covered. They did agree to take care of it but never followed thru. I had to engage another vendor for trash removal to stay in good graces with our HOA. -They tried to change order often for standard items that should be covered such as drain covers, trim, etc. -2 days into demo they ghosted me. I tried reaching out often over the next 3 days with no response. I finally had to high another contractor who completed the work. They did reached out eventually in an effort to complete the work. I told them that I had engaged a new GC to complete the work. -I agreed to pay them for a portion of whay work was completed. They did push back on this as they believed I owed them much more than I felt comfortable paying them. They wanted roughly 4K for 2 days a demo. Haha I agreed to pay 1,500 which I thought was more than fair. -It took them several days to come back up to pick up their tools they left. I eventually placed all their tools on the front porch only to discover cigarette buts all on my front porch and a weed pipe in one of their tool buckets. In a nut shell dodge a bullet and pick a different GC. These guys are a real mess.

JR and his team were amazing with all the work they did to get me back on my feet. With the recent winter storm, I had a pipe burst that caused flooding in my home. They water mitigation was performed by someone else but JR took care of all the post repairs from installing wooden flooring to fixing the dry walls to installing tiles in the bathroom and last but not the least, painting the kitchen cabinets. He was very professional, humble and the best ever team I have worked with. He dealt with the insurance and ensured that I don't have to pay anything other than the deductible. He took care of everything in the timely manner. I could not have asked for more. Will be my go to person for any future needs.

Insist on a time-ed schedule for the work

UPI demonstrated a commitment to high-quality workmanship and quality of materials used. The most striking traits, though, were their honesty, integrity, patience and willingness to communicate. No waiting around to hear back from someone! Communication is consistently fast. They use texting and emailing. My tenant was impressed that the owner, JR, came by personally to replace a sprinkler head that was accidentally broken with one of better quality than what we had! JR is a family man who has had his UPI business there since the 1990s, and he will treat you with kindness. He, his foreman Diego and the crew have shown patience and determination in helping me meet my goals. Our house is simple but they treated it with TLC. We would definitely hire them again!

Speedy response and convenient.

I worked many years as a carpenter and hoeme builder. So when my home was damaged in the hail storm of 2016, I was particular that the work be done correctly. Trim and siding, glass, gutter and a low slop roofing was also damaged. I got several bids on the repairs, but many of the contractors would not do all of the work, and the first insurance inspected missed a lot of the damage. J.R. Level hired an independent inspector before work began, and they met with the insurance people and got the settlement raised substancinally. While the work was being done I added additional repairs at reasonable extra cost. My home is not look so good since it was first built. UPI did an excellent job.

Just wanted to echo what other neighbors have said about the great work that UPI (Universal Property Investments) has done replacing roofs in our neighborhood. I was in no hurry to have my roof replaced until last week when it actually started leaking due to the March 23rd hail damage. JR (Jack) Level sent someone over within minutes to put a tarp over the leak. When it came to replacing my roof, his crew came out exactly when they promised and finished the job professionally and quickly. They were meticulous with the setup (layed down tarps around the perimeter), the roofing and cleanup. Jack is a long time resident of our neighborhood and I highly recommend him and his company UPI.

JR with UPI (Universal Property Investments) is not only a local home repair and improvement owner/company but also a very good and trustworthy one. JR has repaired my wooden fence door and drywall in one of my bathrooms ,as well as repaired my roof. All projects look absolutely GREAT. He will soon open up a wall between my dining room and living for a more open concept. I stumbled over his contact information several years ago and continue to use his services.

This was my first time in having concrete sidewalk and handicapped ramps made; so I was unsure what to ask the concrete contractor to do. This young contractor and his team of workers were aces, knowing and performing exactly what I needed in both front and back of my home, especially the width to accommodate my wheelchair. I will be contracting with these guys again for future concrete work and sidewalks. The work is so professionally done that it looks like the house was built this way.

I rarely complete surveys or write recommendations, but after receiving exceptional service I wanted to write one for JR and UPI. Not only was I pleased with the price, but the quality of work and attention to detail was second to none. you have need of a general contractor we'd happily recommend JR Level (214 738-4463) with Universal Property Investments (UPI). We recently had a new fence and deck constructed in our backyard. Both are beautiful, and we couldn't be happier.
