He was fastidious about his protection of our floors and walls as he mounted our television. He obviously knew what he was doing to mount the television aesthetically and in a safely secure way. He also helped us problem-solve our sound system after he had mounted the TV.

Friendly, stuck with his quote even though the project required more time because of the unique nature of the job. He was prompt and made sure the project was done to my satisfaction.
Response from Up2Decks, LLC
"(name withheld per customer request), I appreciate that you felt the job went well but I'm not sure that your ratings support your comments. For example you stated that I "stuck with his quote even though the project required more time". Maybe the Value for Money could have been a 5.0, not a 4.0? As it is you rated Quality, Customer Service, and Value for Money all at 4.0, yet somehow the overall rating is only worth a 3.0? Doesn't make much sense, and this rating affects how prospective customers make their hiring decisions. Please reconsider your ratings scores and fix this for me. Thanks!"

He was prompt he used extra strong screen material which was. More difficult to work with and took quite a bit more time for him but he told me the charge would be the same as what he had quoted me and was friendly and professional

Needs to be more responsive and communicate better.
Response from Up2Decks, LLC
"Phillip, I worked for you 5 months ago. At that time I fixed all your plumbing leaks very quickly and you were very happy with my work, you were very complimentary in your words about my work. You also had several other contractors working on various projects around your house, and I wonder if it is possible that after 5 months time has passed have you possibly confused me with one of the other contractors? The comments you are making now are not even close to the comments you made at the time of the work, so it makes me think you might be thinking of one of the other guys and not me?"

Although Martin, apparently the owner of 2M, advertises that their area of expertise is wall mounting TVs, don't believe it. My project was to move the wall-mounted tv in my living room to my old wall-mounted tv in my bedroom, and install a new wall-mounted tv in the living room. Simple, for a company that advertises this is what they do, right?. WRONG!!! Martin got as far as taking down both tv's, unpacking the new tv, moving cable boxes, wiring, etc., from one place to another, in a way that only he understood what was to go where. So, now that both tv's were dismounted, he went about the task of removing the old audio wiring from the living room wall in preparation for the new mountl. He yanked and pulled and yanked and pulled some more, and working up a sweat, told me that whoever did the initial installation didn't know what they were doing, because they threaded the audio cables thru an outside wall, which of course, contained insulation between the drywall and the housel. I'm watching him, getting more and more concerned about his inability to remove the old cabling. At that point, he told me that the sound bar that came with the new tv had a wire that went from it to the tv, and would show the wire. I asked him if it wasn't possible -- since I paid for this service purposely because I did not want wires to show -- if he couldn't make a small hole in the wall to thread the 'small wire' from the sound bar to the tv? I guess that was the wrong question to ask. He told me that he was already over the time he budgeted and was obviously upset. I said that everywhere I went I saw wall-mounted tv's with sound systems with no obvious wires. He said if the first people had done the job right, it would work, but he heatedly informed me that I was being ridiculous in my 'demands'. I told him it would be best if he just quit where he was. He did just that, and left my house with NO tv's hooked up - not even the old ones - and cabling, wiring, etc., scattered everywhere in a way that only he understood, but to me it just looked like a confusing mess of cabling, blu-rays, cable boxes, etc. with no rhyme or reason as to what cabling went with what. Furniture had been pulled away from the walls and sat in the middle of the rooms. After Martin stormed out and my heart stopped pounding from anger and utter frustration at the unprofessionalism from someone I hired,, I called my old faithful handyman (in tears) who doesn't do wall mounting, but came over at least to plug in a tv so I'd have something to watch until I could unravel this mess. When he arrived, and I showed him the 'problem cables' that Martin, with all his huffing and puffing, could not remove. My handyman said, "of course he couldn't pull them out. You need a snake to do that." He then plugged in the new tv and did a temporary cable hookup for me. He also moved the furniture against the walls so that my home at least was accessible and I was able to move thru rooms without killing myself. Mar

"Jane, I don't quite know where to start in replying to your review since it contains so many outright and blatant false statements. First I will say that I am sorry that your project did not go as either of us had wanted. I feel compelled to refute many of the things you said in your review. To start with, your assertion that TV Wall Mounts is my area of expertise is false. It is one of many different services I offer, and I have done dozens and dozens of TV Wall Mounts, and every single customer was completely happy, UNTIL YOU. You told me about two other contractors that you had run off in mid-job, and I thought "OH OH, here we go". You told me that the two wall mounts were already in position, except the one in the bedroom would not handle the TV from the living room. So I drove 17 miles into town and back to get you a proper mount and HDMI cable which was needed for the new TV. That drive used up at least an hour, because you were unprepared for my visit. You stated that I unpacked the new TV, but I did not. You alluded to an "agreed upon price", when in fact the estimate was for "four hours UNLESS there were problems". You chose not to hear that. The problems I ran into were the result of the previous installer's methods of installation. Because he did not install a "cable tube" like every other in-the-wall wiring job I have ever seen, he set the next guy up for failure. Now, while that is not your fault, it's not my fault either, it just is. When I said that I couldn't finish the job in the estimated time, that the job would run over the estimate, it was YOU that blew up and got angry. YOU suggested that you would pay me for what I spent on the new mount and HDMI cable plus $100 for my time, and that I should stop work and leave. After you gave me that check I decided later that if you were unhappy with my work then I didn't want ANY payment for my 5 1/2 hours of labor. You took back the first check and gave me a second check for just the materials. I guess that your normal M.O. has been revealed: you get part of the work done for free and then run the contractor off, so you don't pay. Shameful. I also feel compelled to invite you to look at all of my other reviews posted on HomeAdvisor.com - 30 other reviews over 4 years time and a rating of almost a perfect 5 stars! It is inconceivable that I could have that kind of rating over that long a time if my work is as bad as you make it out to be. In fact, I am the highest rated Handyman that HomeAdvisor has in Thurston County. So, in closing I will say that your review is unjustified, undeserved and contains many falsehoods. I will be asking HomeAdvisor to remove your review because of all of your false statements."

He was very nice, courteous and completed the job as stated. He also said he would be glad to give me tips to do some of the easier home repairs. I am a widow with zero knowledge of anything that needs repair and even less patience, so it is nice to know there is a helping hand available

I hired Martin to replace the bottom part of my front porch post that rotted away due to the rain. He showed up on time, very professional, within my budget and did an outstanding job repairing the post. Would definitely hire again for another project.
