Overpriced but I accepted his promise of our property value being improved when done. A three-day job not completed in 4 months though I mistakenly paid all because of the workers' needing paid. I kept believing the promises to fix all the mistakes . damages, and sub-standard work, but after 4 months he didn't return, and didn't respond to calls. This man, Cleveland Best, is a liar, thief and cheat--a con man. Don't fall for his promises.

If you do not mind paint on your windows, adorandack chair being smashed, plants knocked over and broken-- use this company. The after the owner said he could spray paint the house and cover the windows with plastic he shows up with two guys bearing rollers and brushes. In addition the workers did not know how to use the pressure washer, resulting in gouges in the wood and the house not properly prepared to be painted.

Hired to do some carpentry work on a few doors, they did ok with this. I had them install wood flooring and they treated pre-treated flooring and this made a giant mess. Later on the boards on the flooring started coming loose. I called and he said he would come and look at them and fix them. Although I called him several times he has never shown up to fix my wood floors. I want everyone to know not to hire this man.

Cleveland is genuine, has care for his clients. He was very up front about the work he was doing and gave me the opportunity to decide what course to take when the job turned out to be more involved than it appeared. He charged only for what work he did do. I have high expectations on attention to detail and that is my reservation. Minor things like using white caulk on a dark floor and kickplate, or arriving 2.5 hours after agreed upon. Overall, Upraise is a good find.

First let me start by stating that this is not a company. This is one day the owner of this company (Cleveland Best) woke up one day and said to himself "How can I make money today. He does not have any real employees, he has day laborers, not to say that his workers don't know what they are doing, cause they do. Cleveland is the one that does not know how to do the work. He relies on his workers for guidance on the job (at least for my job). This is not only my opinion but of that of his own employees. His employees have pulled me to the side advising me of the incorrect way that Cleveland wanted to proceed. Then they told me of the correct way and asked me to confront him of the correct way and that is the way that I wanted the job done. Later that day his workers thanked me cause they take pride in their work. Also they showed me texts of Cleveland telling them to try and not have any contact with me, to have them redirect any further question that I might have to him instead of his workers. But I am very happy that they did not listen to him and the employees keep me informed on how the job was progressing (good or bad). The work progressed in a good manner until it came time to spackle. The employees did not know how to do this work and advised Cleveland to hire a professional, but he refused. After several times of me pointing this out to Cleveland he still insisted that his workers could do the job. Also instead of him laying down the floor last his did it as his workers were spackling. Which left the floor in horrible condition with paint and spackle on it. After 3 or 4 time I told him that I did not want him to continue. I fired him on the spot. Long story short avoid this so called company at all cost, if not it will cost you more to correct his mismanagement of your project. Also his time line for my job was way off. He told me it would take 2 weeks when it went on for 2 1/2 months. Again even his employees agreed that his time line was way off.

Cleveland helped repair a rental-unit bathroom that had been demolished due to mold remediation. His workmen actually identified the problem to be part of the building's responsibility and so saved me some money as well, thank you! The work also went on despite a challenging schedule for my tenants.

Cleveland was a very nice gentleman to deal with. While this was a very small job (installing new window blinds) he was more than happy to do it. The gentlemen he sent were very nice a did a good job and had it done 1-2-3. Will use them again.

Very professional ,friendly and punctual. Cleveland and his crew did all i asked replacing a tub with a shower .I also had to have a leak fixed on the roof in 2 places. They did a great job . Eric and Josh did a great job on the tile, Carl and Karen did a great job with the electric and plumbing , we had a few surprises with the plumbing and it was all worked out in a timely way. I am planning to hire them for my next project

Cleveland was hired by me to install 2 doors, paint 2 rooms in basement, paint the kitchen, repair and paint balconies, paint fence, repair cabinets so they would close correctly. He charged me $20,000 which I paid.

Original appt time was 9-11. Owner dropped by to preview the job and said workers would be here at 1:45. Work did not begin until 3:30. I took the day off for nothing. They did a good job though. They were a bit rushed which effected the quality a little. Also, I was told I could pay cash or charge, but was not told they would pass on a $10 fee to use my card. All in all I was happy with the job itself, though their scheduling needs to be tightened up and they should be upfront about the credit card fee.
