This experience has been a nightmare for us. Patrick Faris from Veteran Builders has been unprofessional and incompetent. He responded to my Angi request from October 2025 and provided a quote with clear understanding that work will be commencing only April 2026 as it s winter in NJ and my backyard is shutdown When I contacted him in January 2026 he increased his price which I agreed to not delay the project His quote was for labor and I told him to order materials which I will pay separately He gave me catalog to order material and suggested a supplier. I visited the supplier and selected pavers and materials and sent that to Pat in March He started the project in April 29 with a commitment to complete the project in a week He assured me that materials will be delivered after demo is completed. He misguided me with expectation for material delivery. When I contacted Stone Tek, they told me Pat s version of order and delivery not accurate Pat fail to properly understand the requirements of the project and what materials are needed and when to complete the project. When I ask him for updates, he became argumentative and disrespectful. He told me he is his own boss and I don t tell him what to do often raising his voice His worker told me that they can t continue with the parts delivered as the bluestone needed for the first leg of the paver not ordered. Pat did not property manage the Material order and misguided me on what he ordered and when it will be delivered Almost 5 weeks after the demo, bluestone was delivered and Pat arrives at my house that morning and send me a text demanding 25% payment to continue the project after 3 weeks of no progress or communication regarding the project I texted back stating I need to see more progress as 50% progress has not been made for the patio project. Pat instead of having a conversation with me while he is still on my property and I was inside the house, he made his workers pack up and leave He was unprofessional thought out the 5 weeks of engagement. He didn t fulfill the basic expectation of a contractor. I tried to call and text him but no response from Pat and Veteran Builders. A week went by and on May 29, my wife called Pat from her phone which he doesn t n have or blocked and he picked up. She asked him why he abandoned the project and he said he needs 25% payment to come back. She agreed to give him 25% to restart the project and he promised to get back to her on May 30. she called him multiple times on May 30 and texted but no response. She finally emailed on his promise to get back to her on May 30 and he responded to that email indicating he has no plans to return to compete the project. To say we are disappointed with this experience is an understatement. We are living through a nightmare as my kids and us were denied the opportunity to use our backyard for short summer season. We were planning our son s birthday party on August and get togethers with family and friends in our backyard and use of patio with the hope that it will be completed in early May.We are afraid that we are not able to find another provider with reasonable pricing to complete the project this summers as contractors and masons are fully booked for the short summer seasons as they make schedule during the offseason.We are at risk of incurring severe financial loss and opportunity cost of using our backyard for the summer. Also additional cost of hosting birthday parties at outside venues. This is not the experience we expected from contractors approved by Angi. We hope you intervene quickly to find justice for us and bring fairness to the process. I am requesting that Angi remove or deactivate Veteran Builders from using your device until they complete the full scope of my patio project. If they are not winning to return, I am asking for full refund of upfront amount of $5600 plus opportunity cost of not able to use our backyard.

Patrick Ferris and his crew are awesome. They worked with me and my budget to repair my deck and make a new front walk. The work was completed neatly, and beautiful when done!! The men worked numerous days in scorching heat and were always courteous!!! I highly recommend the Veteran Builders!!!!!!!

This father and son company were great. Very professional. I’m 100 percent satisfied with the floor that was installed. They pay attention to what the customers want. Pleasant and friendly. The job was completed within a few days. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone.

They were so attentive and were always there when I had a random question, which I appreciated. They were also so meticulous and made sure everything was done right.

This construction project went so smooth and so fast! Patrick was an excellent communicator and made sure to let me and my wife know about every step! The attention to detail him and his team had was incredible! I cant recommend Veteran Builders enough!
