Reviews
Write a ReviewRuben and his team did a great job for us! We just moved into a new home and discovered some issues. They fixed our gutter which required replacing the facia board, covered “nail pops’ on the first floor roof, and repaired our metal roof on the second floor. But, the best part is Ruben himself. He’s very knowledgeable and empathetic to customer concerns. He offered excellent advice, not only on the roofing but also on other problems I was facing. I highly recommend Ruben and his team.
Ruben Vital was very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to fix our issue same day and made us feel completely at ease with his recommendations.
Very difficult getting them to answer the phone No luck for over a week getting to talk to a person. Still waiting for info about sun tunnel replacement from them so I am looking into getting another company. They must be very busy or a small company.
Gonna be a long review but worth the read. First off my review i would like to state I got over 30 years commercial construction experience. Large scale residential projects, hospital builds and upgrade , restaurants, concrete tiltup structures, churches, powerplant work, bridges etc.. I think you get my point. So I hired Vital Roofing and Construction out of Collinsville Illinois to demo old roof on my stepsons house, do sheeting overlay with 1/2inch sheeting on current roof that had 3/4inch planks and remove old sheeting on carport and lay new 1/2inch sheeting. Also hired them to install roof underlayment { ice and water barrier and synthetic barrier] and shingles and dripcaps , chimney flashing etc.. So I showed after they got started removing old roof, They were not removing all the old roofing nails. They would beat them into the roof 3/4 planks. Does it hurt anything. well not really except I paid them to remove old roof. Nails are part of it. I do not want nails sticking threw inside the attic as getting one in the head if working in attic would hurt. Next they started overlaying the house 3/4inch planks with 1/2inch sheeting. They were not breaking seams on rafters so the rink shank nails I paid for are not getting properly installed and getting holding power they are design for. Again more nails in attic sticking through clearly missing rafters .I told them to make sure to break sheeting properly. I then left as I did not want to be looking over their back the whole job. I return again. Some of the crew were installing ice and water barrier in valleys. Mind you now I am only feet away at the time and they are about to set the sticky side down of ice and water barrier down in the valley right over the top of a big piece of old shingle that is about a foot long and 6 inches wide. I am like hold on. I walk over and reach under barrier and remove old shingle and throw it off the roof. I am like WTF at this point. They begin to run underlayment along gutter lower roof line and were about to lay down synthetic barrier. I am like stop. That is suppost to be ice and water barrier at this locatikn. So again i leave and return later in the day. They are laying shingles and are about to top of roof. Shingles look good and straight which I will give them a thumbs up on that. They about to put ridge vent on so I figure Iam good to leave for the day. They completed the roof I assume. So next day i show and do my inspection. This is when i went into attic and discovered nails for new sheeting missing rafters. I got pics and lots of them. I inspect ridge vent and notice they never cut back sheeting for airflow into vent. A lot of good that does. They surely new better but after a long day were eager to get done and put the screws to me. A normal person/homeowner would of not know any better. Well, I do and Vital got called out on it. Ruben the owner of Vital and I met up to discuss things. He inspected venting and agreed ibwas write. He did return with small crew that day to address the situation.
