Did good work. But one employee’s honesty was a little suspect; asked for and received a door key to test new lock installed on new door, then a few hours later denied he had ever received key. I told the project manager if my house is burgled, his name would be given to police as prime suspect.

The crew that worked on my house was outstanding, especially the supervisor Elias. They all took pride in their work, were friendly, and did not rush anything. They made sure they checked with me before doing any work where options were available. Also, the business owner, John Van Molle, was willing to be flexible with the start date of the project.

John Van Molle was likable and his crew member was very courteous, but I was displeased with the level of communication regarding pricing. This project was for interior painting at my mother's house. She was told one price by him initially, I was told a different (higher) one later, and then the day the work was completed I was told an even higher amount. I didn't have anything in writing (my bad), so ended up with the middle amount. We were also told that if a third coat was needed, the total price would be "a little more" (my fault again for not quantifying this). After the first two coats were on, I was told the price for a third coat and given the option to skip it. Just the labor alone turned out to be more than a third of the original cost for that room, and then there was a separate charge for more paint. But another coat was clearly needed so I no real choice except to agree to the additional expense. The painting job itself was just average; I felt there wasn't much attention to detail. Overall, I was left feeling like I had been somewhat taken advantage of. I had slightly higher quotes from other contractors, and I wish now I had just gone with one of them, since the final amount ended up matching theirs anyway. John seems like a nice enough guy (he helped chase down my mom's dog and for that I'm grateful), but there's nothing else in my experience with his company that would lead to future work or a recommendation to others.

John Van Molle was very pleasant and professional. He met with me before the job was done to go over the progress and completion. His crew did a great job and finished right on time. John was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely use them again. I highly recommend this company.... Thanks John!

Chose Vanmolle over 3 other bidders, two of whom were similar cost. Great exterior painting job with carpentry to correct rot, woodpecker damage, and trim problems, power washing of house, oil primer, and two coats of paint. Sprayer used; seems fine. Very responsive and cooperative. Accommodated my wishes; did what they said. Overall, great job, except they refused to remove painters' trash from my garage, where it was deposited by the painters. Except for lack of trash removal, highly recommend.

They should stick to painting. After Van Molle did a good job painting our house, we asked them if they could build a small shed for us. They took the job and did a half-assed job. When we asked them to address the issues, they hacked together a "fix" that did not work and has made it impossible to open the doors whenever it rains. They ignored our followon emails about the issues, and when I called John basically told me to go screw and that it was all our fault for not staining it (which we did). Night & day experience compared to the 5-star review that I gave them for the painting. Apparently they don't stand behind their workmanship when things go wrong.

John was easy to work with. Said what he'd do and when and did it as planned. It was a dark room and had a few flaws that were difficult to see due to low lighting. We called John and he immediately returned and corrected the problem. Good customer service! would use again and recommend. John is free to use us as a reference!

We were pleasantly surprised that a company we found randomly online was actually worth our time. John is a great guy and it was his personality and stellar customer service that made us want to work with him. And his workers know their stuff, and do great work. We have been very pleased with the entire process thus far.

The painter and the carpenters were very nice, courteous and did a great job!

John was very attentive & friendly from the very start. His crew was great, did great work, and always left our home cleaned up when they left for the day. We had a few items left for them to finish at the end, and they fixed them up right away - no questions, no squabbles. Their price was very competitive. Would definitely recommend them.

I am selling my house and I'm on a very short timeline, but these guys gave me a good price and finished before their estimated time. They were very flexible, very friendly and very knowledgable. They will bend over backwards to ensure that the job is done to your satisfaction. If you're selling your house and you need other work done (floors, handman service, etc) they can also accommodate you. I can definitely recommend John without reservation!

We got a couple of home improvement works done through them and off all the work that they have done, I would rate painting the highest. Overall they have done a good job, but I would suggest going through every detail of the project, and having it in writing before you sign up for the project.

I hired them to paint exterior house and to replace some of exterior trims and sidings. They did very good job. The worker who did the job is very experienced and skilled. The contract they wrote was not very detail itemized like some other contractors, But when I told them my concern they made the change.
