This company made this project a breeze. They did what they said they would do. They came when they said they would come. It cost what they said it would cost. They were very professional and pleasant. I would highly recommend this company.

I had side steps built by Van Orden Landscaping & Design, Inc. back in August 2013. It wasn't until the spring I realized I had not had my steps inspected. Upon inspection in April 2014 the steps failed for risers not being up to code. I contacted Mr. Van Orden a number of times but he has not returned one phone call. I have contacted Consumer Affairs to handle this problem. No, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Started on time. completed ahead of schedule and made sure the deck passed inspection. Workers were very professional and worked neatly. Highly recommend this company.

I contracted Van Orden to redo my deck with composite wood and to install a new 40x15 paver patio with a walkway. The crew did a phenominal job. The patio looks outstanding. The deck looks great and Jim, the owner, was very responsive in making sure I was happy. They finished the project on time and did not try to nickel and dime me for every little thing. I will be gettting work done next year for the front of my house and I will be contacting Van Orden to do this work for me. Very happy overall.

On time, on budget-excellent work, great crew, change orders very reasonably priced. Jim Orden is a real subject matter expert. As the owner he was on the job from start to finish every single day. As someone who has done lots of renovation I cant stress how important this is. Very flexible and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Dealt with Jim Van Orden and found him extremely professional and responsive from initial estimate through to project completion. We discussed several finishing options and I didn't feel pressured to choose the most expensive option available to me for my project. Finished on time/budget.

Jim responded very quickly to my initial inquiry. He anticipated our needs better than we were able to articulate them. We settled on a patio overhaul rather than a new deck. They recently built a beautiful patio with barbecue area, concrete area for a SPA, steps coming down from the kintchen, all in stone. The job looks amazing!!!. they met with me countless times before they started the job until I felt comfortable. They are great professionals and incredibly nice as well. I would recommend them 100%

We had a few ideas of the deck, but didn't know know exactly what we wanted. After discussing with Jim (Van Orden), he helped us create the perfect deck and assisted us with the set up of the hot tub. Pricing was reasonable.

Job took way too long to complete. A small deck and fence around back yard took over a month. Job is still not totally finished even though I paid in full (live and learn). Very rarely was anyone in charge on site. I would not use this company again.

Overall, we're very pleased with the work and cost. As with all projects, however, scheduling gets expanded for various reasons. Our one week project turned into almost 4 due to weather and items not being ordered on time, or some items missing. Communication was good, and they were willing to meet our needs without problem. If I had 1 suggestion to give it would be to tie up all the loose ends and see to the details. It's the little things that will get a return client. In my project, some small pieces were missing and then left to me to attach them once they were delivered. Not a big deal to me, but to someone else could mean a lot.

Professional, easy to do business with, started and completed job on-time and on-budget. Cleaned up every day. Easy to contact and kept me posted. Just did not complete some final details such as caulking.

Experience overall was good. Project was a deck off the dining room and the addition of a sliding door. Craftsmanship was very good and the attention to detail on things like the trim board around the sliding door were excellent. VanOrden also performed an extra project along the way that we had not originally agreed to in our contract. They created baby gates to block the staircase access. The gates were made from the same material used for the entire railings surrounding the deck. They look great, make the deck safe for our little one and were worth the added cost. I would highly recommend VanOrden (and already have) to friends.

Jim was very attentive to what I was looking to have done. He didn't try and oversell me on high end proposals and when he promised to do work, his team was prompt and professional. I look forward to the spring when he will be coming back.
