The project was a converting a room in our basement to a studio. The electrical and plumbing were already installed. The scope required setting two cabinets and connecting a drain to the sink, install some small shelves (two upper and three niche shelves), patching holes left by the electrical install, shortening a closet door from a opening and installing an accordion door, filling in the hole in the floor left by the plumbers and installing tile. Todd said that it would take about 1 to 1.5 days, if I got the materials. I got the materials and figured 2 days by a professional would not be an issue. Two weeks later he leaves a bill. Half the holes are patched and one he did patch will require me to re-do. Sink cabinet is pushed up against the wall, but the plumbing is not connected. Cement is poured, but no tile laid. He told me to go find a young kid to do that. He said I could use a base cabinet opposite the sink. I bought a cabinet and it was still too big. That had to be taken back and I told him to not worry about installing the other cabinet. My wife and I would take care of it. Also, forget installing the upper shelves, we would take care of that, too. We were starting to see that he is not a professional. Should I mention the oil stains left in our newly poured driveway left by his car? When I told him that the job was not complete, he said he knew that, sorry that he did not meet our expectations (you think?), but that we got our money's worth. Really! Honestly, I would consider not using Home Adviser again and just hire a local professional with an established reputation. So much for supporting this small business man. Don't hire him. He will rip you off and leave you hanging.
