Issue: Description License/Insurance: Does not have a contractor license or insurance. It was revoked in 2022. Schedule: Projected to be 7 days, it has been 42 and still not done Materials: Incorrect quantities and items were ordered or suggested to be ordered during the project. Floor tiles were recommended at 75 pieces when 165 were required. (I caught this before ordering). Ditra floor heating system was oversized by recommending to order 113 SQFT of material when the actual space required 54 SQFT. Shower Curb: Shower curb is installed incorrectly. The pitch is wrong and creates a large gap (1â +) under the shower door. The tile edge trim is also installed incorrectly and causes water to pool on the curb and stay stagnant with nowhere to go. The shower curb is also leaking onto the bathroom floor. Shower Niche: Looks nice, but the tile edge trim is installed incorrectly and causes water to pool up with nowhere to go. Shower Bench: Tile edge trim is install incorrectly causing it to collect and hold water. Shower Floor: Pitched incorrectly, 1/4+ inch of sitting water after a shower. Cleanliness: Dust all over my master bedroom, trash in the garage, cut tile pieces all over the driveway Bathroom Vent: Not vented to the outside, drips water all over the floor. Toilet: Installed to close to the wall, can not really lift the cover or place the cover without scratching paint off the wall. Vanity: Installed and screwed to the wall without using the proper predrilled holes. Installed in the wrong location without asking. Plumbers moved it, still not attached to the wall. Was not installed in the correct order which slowed down the process. It should be vanity attached to wall, sinks attached to countertop, countertop installed. It was vanity set in place with countertop attached, removed vanity from bathroom, flipped upside down and installed sinks, vanity back in the bathroom, installed in the wrong place (without consulting me), removed from the bathroom, base trim cut (by me), installed back into the bathroom in the correct place, but not attached to the wall. Silicone was left all over both sinks. Shower Plumbing: Shower plumbing is incorrect. The ceiling shower button turns on the wall shower head. The wall shower head turns on the ceiling shower head. The handheld still is not plumbed, and it appears that the chipped tile will still show even after the flange is installed. Grout: Pretty much a mess. Missing grout under the baseboard. Never cleaned the sanded caulk that was applied. Huge grout line next to the door threshold etc etc etc Tile: Installed shower tiles 12x24 with a 50% offset instead of the 33% offset that I requested (and is the industry standard for that size tile.) Tile lippage everywhere. Floor tile spacing varies by an incredible amount. No spacers were used. Bathroom Door: Put a small hole in the bathroom door and never fixed it. Drywall: Cut drywall where it did not need to be cut. Installed a patch with a bit of tape and mud, but that was it. Was supposed to be paint ready but it was not. I had to hire my painters and pay extra to fix all the joint compound. My involvement: Countless hours correcting things, coaching, buying lunch, remediation, hounding for a response to no call/no show situations, fixing incorrect materials, etc. It was always, I slept all day, had a flat tire, had a bad day, had to pick up my son, Contractor/Plumber: Did not seem to get along. He said/She said. I had to mitigate and handle communication between the two of them. They both said each other person was wrong. They have known each other for 9 years and somehow, I am stuck in the middle. Heated floors install: Incorrect order for way more SQFT than was required. Cable had to be installed twice because of this. Was wired improperly and I was told that is normal. I coached the contra...
