"Hi Barb, Thank you for the review. I am sorry to learn that a part of the fence was overlooked. This was not brought to my attention while on-site, and I did not receive a call afterward. I would have been more than happy to come out and correct the issue."
"Hi. The actual invoiced amount for the basement of your dad was $9900.00 for emergency services completed. Your father has a full finished basement (bathroom, bedroom, rec room area, etc). I offered your father a discount of $3000.00 at first, and then an additional $500, and only billed him for $6500.00. We bill by the expectations of the insurance companies, using a standardized program, Xactimate. Your father allowed the Category 2 water conditions to sit in the basement for well over a week, turning to Category 3 conditions. One of my employees had to be sent home, as they became ill after being exposed to the smell in the basement, causing illness. Any items that were taken to the street were damaged by the water or already growing mold spores from sitting on the soaking wet carpet for over 7 days. Your father had only $10,000 in insurance coverage. For the size home he has, it is insufficient, and I explained that to him. It is unfortunate, but again, I offered and GAVE him a $3500 discount for services rendered. As explained to your father, he should be having a forceful conversation with his insurance company to ensure he has the appropriate coverages. A finished basement like his should have at minimum $30,000 in coverages. For all our viewers as well, if you have a finished basement, $30,000 is a safe amount for a basement, because emergency services and rebuild Services will end up costing around that much, also not factoring other variables such as contents and personal belongings. Lastly, the equipment was in the basement for 3 days. Not sure where your father only counted 2 days. Your father, respectfully, is extremely hard of hearing, and I felt as though he did not quite understand all the insurance dynamics. I knew approximate costs before starting the project, which is also why in the contract of your father I wrote a DNE (Do Not Exceed) limit for $7000. I knew that he would need a little money left over for repairs, however, I could not discount any further, as it is essentially the HOMEOWNERS responsibility to ensure appropriate coverages for their dwelling places. I would be happy to further discuss this with you. Please call my office during business hours at 833-484-7737. Thank you!"
