In 1999, a new president was preparing to take the helm of the Building Industry Assoc. of Superior California (now the North State Building Industry Assoc.) board of directors, marking not only the end of a tenure but the end of a tradition as well. That's because incoming president Cheryl Gibson was the first woman to hold the post in the association's 55 year history.
