Let me start by saying William is an extremely nice guy. However, I wish I had never hired him, for several reasons. He was a no-call no-show multiple times. Days later, he contacted me to say that he was at the hospital both times, but I don't know. He placed new laminate in my kitchen. He placed so much glue under it that it looked TERRIBLE. Multiple times he said that was as good as it would get, but his assistant went over it many times and actually made it look okay. When they placed my refrigerator back on it though, they slid it, tearing a huge hole in my brand new flood. In my bathroom, he built a new sub floor to even out the slant in the room. It is not even, and after less than two months, several tiles wobble and the grout is cracking from the movement. Also, the vanity was not placed securely to the wall like it was before the renovation, so now it wobbles and I can't get it right. He hung my bedroom door upside down. Missed placing trim up in several spots, and only used one or two nails to secure 7 foot sections of trim. The thing that angers me the most is how there are now several digs in my 60 year old hardwood floors from him tossing his tools down on it. He installed a railing in the front of my house with PVC over it. I specifically said it was for safety due to me having a family member that has trouble getting up steps. William didn't secure the PVC posts to it and when my family member leaned on it for the first time, he almost fell when it moved. All of this on top of me having to fire William to end the destruction of my house, AFTER he got all my money. I then had to pay someone else over $500 to have things finished, on top of the money I lost for the damages to my house, and the things that I can't fix like chunks missing out of my formerly perfect hardwood floors. This was one of my hardest, and most costly, learned life lessons.

William was easily reachable and arrived on time as scheduled each day. He did Interior trim on all windows, baseboards, demo of old brick around a fireplace and replaced with drywall. We ran into some older home issues with the job and he was able to problem solve for me and make everything look great! I would recommend him to others and will definitely use him again for home repairs I have.

I called William Macomber Contracting and received a call back the same day. I told the owner, Will, I needed a professional to correct the landscaping mistakes made by someone else. I also needed a professional to finish the landscaping job. The owner came out the very same day with both of his sons. They worked diligently until the job was done. Everything looked beautiful and they cleaned up after themselves. I will call them again in the future and I have told friends about him.

Courteous, clean, and professional.

Will showed up on time ready to go and started immediately. Very friendly and knowledgeable at what he does. Provided a great service at a fraction of the other quotes I received and was able to save the door from needing to be replaced. He was unable to paint that day due to the rain (silicone paint or something?) so he left the brand new paint and paint brush for me (not a big deal I can paint right? right.) he also weather-stripped the door (which was previously missing from before the job) and also added a fix to the glass door for me for the same amount he quoted me. He did a great job and I'll definitely be calling him for any additional jobs.

I found the perfect contractor! He was fairly priced, punctual and meticulous in his work. I would highly recommend him.

Mr Macomber and his son hung curtain rods, pictures and two doors for us, in addition to several smaller projects. They were punctual, neat, clean, and very efficient, plus they gave us an excellent rate. When I'm ready for additional projects, I will definitely contact Mr Macomber.

William is thoughtful. ..he was careful in purchasing supplies. Items were cost-effective and can be used for later projects.

This is long past due! We worked with Shiles & Macomber before the holidays to get some bathroom work done in the house. And I have to say they are the best contractors we have ever worked with. They were extremely professional, honest, on time every day. Just awesome. We hope to use them again in the future. I HIGHLY recommend them for any of your contracting needs. All around great guys.

I was contacted very quickly by Mr. Macomber and was pleased with his estimate. The job is completed and I am pretty happy overall. The floor looks nice, it could have been a little cleaner and I would have appreciated more education on how to clean it. Mr. Macomber came back and completed sealing the grout and took care of a few other minor issues. He did warranty the work for 2 years. I did not like the fact that I kept having to purchase materials after the project had started because nobody had thought of them ahead of time. I had a budget and was unhappy about continuing to buy materials. Overall I would use them again.

Mr. Shiles and Mr. Macomber initiated contact with us immediately after we placed a request with Service Magic. They gave us a great rate and promised excellent service. We paid a great rate and received better than excellent service! Shiles and Macomber arrived to our home on time (which was a rarity considering another job we had done through a different contractor who promised and promised, but rarely delivered). The stated they would be done with the work in one day and that's what happened. They worked steadily throughout the day, building a great set of steps for us. They were professional and pleasant - a perfect combination!

Got the call on the job very quickly after sending in the request. Scheduling was done for my convenience and the work was completed quickly at a reasonable cost. The business card will stay with me as long as I stay in the area and I would recommend to others without hesitation.
