Wilson is great!!!

I am a builder and I try to work with Wilson whenever I need any exterior work done!

In early September 2020 my family room ceiling started leaking again after a hard rain and I was looking for a contractor to repair what I thought was a leak in my roof. Then I was advised by an inspector that it wasnâ t actually the roof leaking, but was water getting behind my siding. He said there wasnâ t any Ty Vex water vapor barrier on the house and he thought there wasnâ t a proper J-channel to direct the flow of water off the roof. I contacted several different contractors for evaluations and estimates, they all came to the same conclusion that the issue was with the siding and lack of Ty Vex, not the roof. Many of these contractors either provided a very pricey estimate or told me the job did not meet their threshold of work and cost. Then I found WM Home Care through HomeAdvisor and my prayers were answered. The owner, Wilson, came out as soon as I contacted him. Ironically, Wilson told me he had done the recent siding job on my neighborâ s house. I explained what I thought needed to be done based on what the inspector and other contractors had told me. Wilson surveyed the side of the house having the issue, provided me an outstanding estimate, far less than estimates quoted by the other contractors, and arranged to perform the work within the following week. I asked how long the work would take and he said it would only take about 3-4 hours, unless he found rotten wood on the side of the house. The following week, Wilson and his crew arrived at 8:00am and started removing the siding from the area of the house with the water leak. Wilson and I went up on the roof to inspect the area and there was obvious water stains and dirt on the outside wall, but luckily the wood had not rotted. However, the J-channel was cracked and needed to be replaced. Wilson was able to color match the J-channel to the siding and insisted on also color matching the caulking to the J-channel and siding. So, while Wilson went to get the new J-channel, his crew installed the Ty Vex on the side and front areas of the house. When Wilson returned with the new J-channel, he and his crew quickly put it in place and re-installed the siding. On the front of the house Wilson was going to put a piece of molding back in place on the window over the garage. Unfortunately, using the original piece of molding that had come off the window was not going to work. Wilson advised me of this and said he could put a piece of the J-channel up there to hold the siding in place. This not only worked, but it looks better than what the original contractors had done with the regular molding. Then, as the crew was cleaning up, Wilson noticed that a piece of trim on one of the other windows was coming off. He immediately had one of his workers go up and fix that piece at no extra cost. From color matching the J-channel and caulking to putting fixes on smaller things so they donâ t develop into big issues in the future, Wilson and his crew definitely take pride in their work and know what theyâ re doing. Wilson took the time to answer all my questions and explained everything that was being done, to include why they were doing it. The entire job from start to finish, including the extra window trim repair, only took 3 hours. I definitely highly recommend WM Home Care for any siding job needing to be done. Bill in Glen Burnie
