Asphalt Shingle Roofing Repair
I hired Wendells Roofing in the fall of 2017 to repair my roof leak that has destroyed my bedroom ceiling. The repair was attempted 3 different times and as of today my ceiling/roof is still leaking when it rains or snow melts. The first time Wendalls did some under flashing work and guaranteed me that the repair would fix my leak. It did not. A couple of months later when the roof leaked again I called Wendalls back and they assured me that the owner would come out to take a look. The owner did not come. Instead another roofer came out and took a look. He stated that the under flashing was not complete and further work had to be done. I was again told that the leak was fixed. A few weeks later the roof leaked again. All of the leaks in the ceiling going from the same area. I called Wendell's again and this time I was told that the peak of the house was leaking and additional repairs were needed at an additional price. I just wanted the roof fixed so I agreed. Again I was guaranteed that the leak was fixed. Shortly after the last repair my roof continued to leak. Needless to say I am not happy. I finally had to hire someone else to correctly fix my roof. Asphalt Shingle Roofing Repair
I hired on 11/03/2017. Work not done after over 2 months (Jan 9 2018). Still not done after 3 months (Feb 14 2018). It is now March 7, 2018. Still no contact from Wendell's. I asked for my money back. again no contact. I filed complaints with Home Advisor, BBB and Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

They asked for the balance in full to hold the spot and said they would be there in two weeks never have called or showed up. The guy that came out seem very nice and trustworthy. The people answering the phone seem very nice but they have never followed through or returned my calls when I asked for a refund.

Asphalt Shingle Roofing Installation and Replacement
A month after the roof was installed I received a letter from the company that supplied the shingles for my roofing project and was told that Wendell's had not paid for the shingles and that I should contact a lawyer to prevent from having to pay for the shingles twice. Now there is a possibility of a lien being put on my house. I have tried several times to contact Wendell's Roofing but the phone numbers listed are not in service.

Upfront everything went smoothly. They were able to bring down their price to compete. The job was done in one day but unfortunately my driveway was out of commission for an additional day due to the dumpster trailer being left after the job was done the day before. Other than that the work looks to be done well. Only other issue I had was after the job was done I got a call from Wendell's billing department saying i owe them almost $500 more than our agreed upon price due to additional boards (no worker talked to me about this during install. Which I was told was required before any additional costs were added.) . I asked them to check into that further because since they left their dumpster trailer there an additional day I was able to see that the crew threw away the 3 full size sheet wood boards that were included in the job and i have them to prove it. On top of that I found that they threw away countless extra unopened sleeves of shingles THAT I PAID FOR. Didn't even offer them to me. Wendell's billing department got back to me and said there was a communication error and that they had to replace boards but they were a different size then the sheet boards the crew threw out but i was still within the agreed upon replacement sq foot footage so there would be no additional cost. They apologized for the error but offered no tangible gift for almost over charging me $500. Overall the upfront estimate service is very punctual and professional but the issue with the billing department needs to be addressed ASAP.

They were professional, competent, and picked up after themselves. I felt they up-sold me and the price was significantly more than I originally planned on paying. What really bothers me, is one of the patch jobs is right at the front on each side of the front door, and it draws the eye and really looks unsightly. Not sloppy, but there should be a better way to disguise the work they did.

This company is honest and awesome, they want to make sure that you as a customer are happy with the work that you have contracted them to do. They replaced my entire roof and it was done in one day with a very detailed clean up. There were a few hiccups with the trash, but they corrected it as soon as I informed them of the issue. Everything they committed to do they did, even things as small as confirming all nails were removed. I also used them replace my gutters, again they did an awesome job, there was a few hiccups with the color but it was corrected also a hiccup with a few areas that needed to be patched due to some spacing issue, again they came out to fix things right away. My only caution is to make sure your sales person puts in writing everything that they promise to do every minor and major thing this way there is no question when things get to the office, the office will take care of it, but it just helps to eliminate any questions. This is an awesome and reasonable company to work with and the peace of mind for me was the added fact that they are Christians and they care about the customer, I mean really care. You will be in good hands. If I have another project that falls in their area of expertise I will give them a call first. Thanks Jeff, Jackie and others for all your hard work. It is really nice to work with a company who says they care about the customer and they show they care about the customer. They are professional, friendly and caring. My roof is now totally new, plywood and all and the lifetime guarantee makes things even bettter. I rated the company at 4.5 because there is always room for improvement. I would recommend this company. Thank you

Would of like the repair to have lasted longer. Flashing had to be recaulked twice after inital repair.

Received an estimate from this company and signed to have the repair done however when the actual roofers arrived the repair estimate was increased. After speaking the office I was charged the original price. However the tiles used could have been a better match for they are drastically different.

They came out on short notice. Gave the estimate, and before the week was done the roof was repaired. Not the least expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Everyone associated with this company was very professional to work with from our salesperson, Gerald, through everyone in the home office. I was not home during installation and when I came home, there was no debris anywhere. Gutters are pitched correctly and though not our first color choice, look great. Our first color, Shale, which would have matched our siding, was not available in gutter stock. Went with white.

First, I was told they would call to schedule an appointment for the workers to come out, I received no call. Second, we wanted to keep the old gutters to use else where, even confirmed that we could. Did not happen. Third, called Jacob and explained to him what was going on, he said he would call back , never did. Fourth, upon looking at the new gutters, not happy with the work, on one side of the gutters, part of them are under the drip edge, other parts are not.

"Mr. E, We have went over and above to resolve this issue. We have communicated with you to the best of our ability both by text and by voicemail, but have fallen short of reaching you. Our crew was there to do the trim behind your gutters for free and you sent them away. It was definitely our mistake that they were installed prematurely to you installing your own trim, so we were intending to pull them down and replace your fascia trim for free, and at a loss. We also offered to give you some new gutter material to replace the ones that were damaged during the removal process preventing you from keeping them for other use.. At this point, we are sorry you feel this way about our company, and it pains us to say that, but we have acted in good faith and there is nothing more that we can do. We wish you the best in your future endeavors. I hope you have a great holiday season."
