So, I cannot say enough about Ed Wescoat - He is a true Woodworking Artist! By far the Wescoat Finish Carpentry is the BEST finished carpenter and for that matter the BEST contractor we have worked with in the Gulf Breeze/ Pensacola, Florida area! We had Wescoat Finish Carpentry complete 6 projects as part of making putting the finishing touches on our new home. We asked Ed and his assistant, Jordan to design and build from scratch: 1. Family Entertainment Center Cabinet, 2. Matching Crown molding on our walls and windows frames, 3. an antique/ distressed wood accent wall, 4. Attic flooring, 5. a back yard fence, and 6. a wooden sign post. All work was done professionally, to our specifications, on time, and at a very fair price. I am sure we will use Ed and Westcoast Finish Carpentry again and YOU should too!

Interior Trim and Decorative Moldings Installation
I initially wrote a great review for Ed which I did right after he finished the work. However, this was a mistake. We hired Ed to fix wood rot so that we could pass a WDO reinspection. Unfortunately, we failed the reinspection because Ed (or the assistant he hired) used wood filler instead of replacing rotted areas with new wood. Also, there were at least three areas where the wood filler wasn't even painted. Furthermore, he missed an entire item on the list we gave him. It was difficult to get him to come back out as he said he was busy with other jobs, and although he did finally offer to come out and fix things, we no longer trusted him to get us to pass the WDO. Ed was a nice guy, but I would not hire him for anything that needs to pass inspection. I'm sure he'd be fine for other tasks as he was very nice.

Ed was very professional and fair. He did quality work on a small area of metal trim replacement along my roof line. I look forward to working with him on other projects.
