Stone Slab Countertops Installation (Granite, Marble, Quartz, etc)
The work was subpar. They avoided me and still are. I cannot get a hold of them. They over promised and under delivered on multiple occasions. They cut holes in my wall then tried to deny it until I told them I have them on camera cutting the holes. Very unprofessional. They left all their garbage in my house and in the front yard and when I confronted them they said it was my responsibility to dispose of that. They were never on time. I feel like because it wasnt a huge multi million dollar project I was doing they just didnt care or pay any attention to detail. The seam in my counter top is highly visible they didnt conceal it or give me any options. When I called them about it they said that is as good as its going to get. I didnt get any details on the tile used or type of color. The back splash extended past my counter top because they didnt feel like cutting it. When I asked them to remove it they just removed it and didnt bother to patch up the wall it was on. I am currently still trying to get John Whaley to come back and fix what was put up in my kitchen. In the last two weeks he has sent me 4 estimates for fixing his employees mistakes. We had even agreed it would be free of charge. First one was for around $1900, the next was for $1400, then came one for $400, and finally this last one for $20.17. I was ready to just pay the $20 to get what I paid for to begin with, but when I read what he was planning on doing to fix it I was shocked. He decided that he would change things completely from what the first estimate have said would be getting done. And on this one instead of removing the incorrect tile that was installed he decided he only wanted to overlay one of the walls. And when I asked him what this meant just so I can make sure he told me to go look it up. And as I had thought he was trying to add the new tile on top of the old tile and not even go up the wall as far as before. And all the while I was trying to rush me into getting it done in the next day. I told him that that was not what I paid for, or what we had originally discussed. So I pretty much told him that I wasnt going to let us begin until I was sent a new scope of work to sign off of what was being done. He proceeded to text me at 12:30am and then call me at 6:30am. That was earlier today Ive tried contacting him multiple times today calling messaging and she has actively ignoring me. No I dont know when I will speak to him again I dont know whats going on again. This is the worst experience Ive ever had in my entire life. Yeah, Im not willing to give up because I worked hard to be able to redo this kitchen and Im not gonna let him ruin it because he wanted to save a couple bucks and cut corners and some people that didnt know what they were doing to do my place. Not to mention hes told me to shut up on the phone and has made very nasty remarks and comments about my character. Throughout this all Ive done Is provide pictures evidence video of issues and the lies and Ive been told. And he doesnt wanna hear any of it one minute he is ready to do it, And the next he wants nothing to do with me. In my very favorite part was when he told me that he was going to start on Monday and then I need to change my days off. This is after I had told him multiple times that Wednesday and Thursdays are my days off I wanted to be there and It needed to be those days. I was appalled and offended, Until he proceeded to tell me how messy my house was and that I should maybe go to work a little later day care plan to come start in order to get my kitchen ready for him to work because it was so messy and he knew this because he said he had come up on my porch and peek in my window while I was at work.

$2,650
John contacted me and gave me a reasonable estimate to install floor tile then porcelain and glass tile for a tub surround. He was upfront that he was very busy and would try to work me in to his schedule. I appreciated John's honesty about being busy and was ok with waiting. John was able to get the floor done a week later and was able to finish the tub surround within a month. All of the tile work was beautiful! Communication was not the best so I had to pester John a bit but he was always very pleasant. I do however understand this happens when someone is a sole owner/operator with no office staff. As a second homeowner, I was around for the floor install but not the tub surround. The job site was not cleaned up as much as I would have liked but not so bad to drop a star. I also realize with winter snow and ice that it's much harder to keep things clean when you have to come in and out of the house a lot to cut tiles and mix mortar and grout.

I would use him again. I especially liked the 1/4" overlap around the sink to hide the grout line.
