"Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. We strive to provide the highest level of service available and some clientele simply do not value the inspection and consultation services that serve as the foundation of any control program. I have taken the time to evaluate your concerns, here are my thoughts. Our technician that responded to your home is highly qualified being certified in the highest national level certification available through NWCOA (the leading wildlife control industry association). In fact, he is a national trainer that teaches other professionals (and develops national industry standards) through NWCOA. He performed a complete exterior and attic inspection that resulted in 57 photos being provided to the client. He identified the likely species and identified the problem as "exterior roosting". He cleared your attic of any evidence of presence of bats or history of bats inside the structure. He consulted with you on the findings and presented an inspection report and recommendations for your exterior roosting problem. We specialize in removal of bats from the structure. You have no bats getting into your structure, they are simply roosting on the exterior. Exterior roosting (bats simply resting on the exterior of your home) is a difficult issue to resolve and it is simply impossible for anyone to stop this entirely. Certain areas of the structure were identified as probable exterior roosting areas and recommendations were given to "discourage" their presence. Some areas of your structure it is possible to exclude and fortify, other areas it is not (another words we cannot install a bubble around your entire home to keep bats from landing on your structure). We then provided you with a proposal which was a high cost, due to the custom work necessary to keep bats out of these areas (which was explained to you at the time of the consultation). Due to the needed "blending" and matching of exclusion materials, this constituted the high cost for protecting these areas. We also gave you an option ($975 of the total proposal) to install vent guards as well to protect you from other pests. This was included as a line item which you could easily have picked which services to hire us for and which to not. Prior to hiring us, we clearly explained to you that this was an inspection and consultation only and that no exclusion or bat removal services (other than figuring out what it is you need to be successful) would be performed at the time of the inspection. It would literally be impossible to predict (and stock the truck) with what may or may not be needed as each and every situation is different. So, we always start with a detailed inspection and consultation, then present a proposal and recommendations for each custom situation. I'm sorry that you do not value the time, experience and effort it takes to get this critical phase completed for you. However, this thorough inspection is the foundation for any successful control program. Just like when going to the doctor, first you have figure out what's wrong by diagnosing the patient. Then consult on findings. Then discuss options for control given the species, life cycle it's using the structure for and the conditions of its entry or roosting behavior. Next time you go to the doctor, please let them know that you do not value a proper diagnosis and consultation and that you are not willing to pay for these. See what kind of reaction you get. By the way, our technician was accompanied by a NWCOA Board Member (Western Director for NWCOA) who was doing a ride along with our services in order to help him with a professional podcast. It's highly doubtful that given the presence of this industry leader that we would have given you anything but the best service available. Clearly our records and documentation prove that we were thorough, detailed and performed at the highest expected levels of service."
