Whyte came quickly. Did work fast. Actually, probably too fast. A pipe from the old sump pump to the outdoors was broken. Instead of trying to disconnect the pipe from the sump pump, it was removed with force and broken. Instead of a new pipe replacement, a splice was made. Given the urgency of the need for the pump, no issue was made.

Dave was on time, gave a reasonable estimate, and gave some helpful advice on other plumbing projects I had in mind to do. I would hire Whyte & Son Plumbing again for my other projects.

I had a kitchen faucet replaced. I'm pretty handy this but looked like a tight fit under the sink that could make it a tough job. I'm glad I hired Mr. Whyte. Overall, it appears that the work performed and service provided were excellent. And the cost was very reasonable.

Couldn't have been more on-time, showed up exactly at 8:00, as announced. Quickly finished the work he was asked to do. Unfortunately, the guy messed up my entire downstairs with wet grass and dirt, because he didn't wipe his feet, scrunched up a floor mat in the bathroom because he didn't pay attention to his surrounding and lit up the water heater pilot flame with a welding torch (!) that he held in there for about a minute (hopefully nothing got damaged). I found the $100 fee for 15 minutes of easy work rather steep. Customer service indicated that they pro-rate the hourly fee, the person onsite said they don't do that.

Martha was very helpful on the phone when I called for a quote and scheduled the apt. Dvae, the plumber, was good on the job and was able to answer all the questions that I had. I'm very satisfied with his work and am happy that now I have a local plumber that I can call whenever I need one.

Whyte & Son was prompt and courteous with the appointment. Unfortunately, he did not find the right cause of the plumbing leak. I ended up calling other plumber to fix the leak. While he was at home, I also asked him to take a look at the 'ghost flushing'. This was fixed with flapper replacement in the toilet tank. Unfortunately, that did not entirely fix the problem. It did slow the frequency but problem still existed. Called back but no response!!

I hired this guy in the Summer of 2010 to change a frozen pipe that he installed the previouse year 2009. He did not drain all the water out of hot water tank, so, my tsp valve in the hot water heater bursted. I did not find out this until all the moist from bursted hot water tank damaged everything in the basement, including the AC unit. I called the wife and she said that he does not drain the water tank when changing the pipes because it takes too long. The hot water tank broke after he installed the pipe, and that's when I thought it was strange and read about the pressure valve etc. in the internet on how the hot water heater works.

ZERO STARS! We needed to hire a plumber asap and it felt like a miracle that Whyte and Sons was available within days. Now I know why. Dave Whyte has been nothing but horrible. He did some work in our bathroom. The faucet he installed, leaked. The toilet, leaked. He broke our brand new toilet seat. Installed the tub fixtures. The tub does not fill up because the lever doesn't work. He has come back to fix the faucet and it leaked again. He came back to fix the lever in the tub, it still doesn't work. He has blamed his mistakes on everything but himself, Home Depot, my boyfriend, etc. I cringe at the thought of having him back.

We had a Moen shower fixture installed 4 yrs. ago and after taking a shower it would not shut off completely. Made the mistake of calling Moen and after lengthy phone conversations and Fed-Ex'd parts we were unuable to replace the part ourselves as promised by Moen. Four days of a leaking shower later, wer called Whyte & Son Plumbing. It was the day after Thanksgiving and he arrived in less than 2 hrs. and fixed the shower withing 15 minutes. Nothing but good things to say about Whyte!

Contacted me immediately. Other 2 plumbers never called. Despite a more difficult job than expected they did not charge me more than originally quoted. Arrived on time as well. Would use again and recommend. Good work - fair price

They didn't need to get rich on my job; price was per estimate and they were on time and cleaned up afterwards. Great experience.

he came and told me that the stem needs to be replaced as that was the issue, when i tried explaining the issue again, he seemed pretty confident as to he knew exactly what the issue was and was fixing the right thing. once he was done, i noticed the original problem still existed and he said, oh thats due to your furnace. i was like, why did you change the stem then, and he got defensive saying that also needed to be replaced as that was going bad. I told him i didnt want step replaced, all i asked you to come and do was fix my problem, if it as furnace, you should have said that first, he he got rude and i had to still pay.. never hire.
Response from Whyte & Son Plumbing & Drain Cleaning, Inc.
"When pricing is an issue, Whyte & Son always speaks of the least expensive fix, as well as a permanent one. Many customers are either not in a position to fix the entire problem or hope the smaller fix will be sufficient."

I was given a price quote to upgrade my current water heater over the phone to a 50 gallon water heater. When he arrived with the 50 gallon heater, he told me the job would be more because the 50 gallon heater was much higher than the one in place. I agreed to buy a special shorter level 50 gallon model that would make it easier and less expensive to install but it had to be a special order. He said he would be back the following week to complete the job. I never saw him or heard back from him again. I guess he thought he was still doing the job for less than it was worth. Thanks Mr Whyte.
Response from Whyte & Son Plumbing & Drain Cleaning, Inc.
"We try to avoid giving pricing over the phone for precisely this reason - that seeing the situation can change the amount of time involved in getting the job done correctly. Many customers are reluctant to make an appointment for a free estimate, but any estimate given over the phone is clearly stated as an estimate. We offer free estimates - in person - which ensure that the job can be done correctly and the estimate is accurate."
